Do you make calls on certain days or do things on certain days? I'm trying to come up with a schedule so I can better manage what I need to get done.

I try and do my calls in the middle of the week... the reason is becasue the first half of the week is done and most know what's going on for the rest of the week and into the next week.

I usually try to do my calls on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. Of course with school starting; and dance, kids klub, girl scouts....I'm happy to get my calls done whenever I can!

I do the "power hour" 2-3 times a week.

I have been making sure that I do one hour of PC stuff every day, be it calls, flyers, host packets or tele classes...something and I have found that it is paying off.

I just started the "Power Hour" (Belinda Ellsworth) in August - and it has changed my business! One nice thing about it is that your hour is broken up into 15 minute increments...and it's much easier for me to find 15 minutes than a whole hour!

I do my Power Hour on Wednesdays, with follow-up on Thursdays. This helps me catch anyone who was at church on Wednesday evening. (By the way, love the Power Hour! I feel like I get so much done. It's a great focusing tool.)I set aside one day a month (often the first Tuesday) to put together plenty of host kits, so they'll be ready and waiting for all those new bookings. I also use that day to change over my guest packets, placing the new specials in the packets, changing paperwork if necessary. Of course, I review and replenish my guest packets the day after each show (except the last one of the month) so they'll be ready for the next show.

Power Hour?I've been reading a lot of posts since conference about the Power Hour - that sure must have been one "powerful" workshop!! :D

Does anybody have notes on the Power Hour that you could post. I wasn't able to go to conference this year, but would like to start doing this.
thanks!
Melinda

I usuallly mail things on monday, try to do my booking calls on tues. and wed., on thursday i usually do host coaching calls, and on friday do customer care calls, etc. This gives me a little to stick with everyday to get done and not a whole bunch at one time. I also have a 70 page notebook that i keep a rolling list of people who i need to call, etc. in it. That keeps me on task also.

Could you share your Rolling List form?
thanks!

I am working on my schedule right now. I have a calendar that has 7 days of the week and then it breaks it down to morning, afternoon and evening. I do 1-2 household tasks per day, 2 loads of laundry daily, I make phone calls 5 days a week, 2 days a week I have time to "file" paperwork, 3 days a week I do some sort of training, etc. I can scan the calender if you would like.

What I did to start is write down my daily and weekly tasks. Then started filling in my calender, I don't always follow it to a tee, but it has seemed to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some effective strategies for creating a productive schedule?

To create a productive schedule, start by prioritizing your tasks using methods like the Eisenhower Matrix to distinguish between urgent and important tasks. Break larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps and allocate specific time blocks for each task. Additionally, consider using digital tools or planners to keep track of deadlines and appointments, and be sure to include breaks to maintain your energy levels throughout the day.

How can I manage distractions while following my schedule?

Managing distractions is crucial for maintaining productivity. Identify common distractions in your environment and take steps to minimize them, such as creating a dedicated workspace, turning off notifications on your devices, and setting specific times to check emails or social media. You can also use techniques like the Pomodoro Technique, which involves working in focused bursts followed by short breaks, to help maintain concentration.

What role does goal setting play in effective scheduling?

Goal setting is essential for effective scheduling as it provides direction and motivation. By setting clear, achievable goals, you can prioritize your tasks based on their alignment with these objectives. This helps you stay focused on what truly matters and allows you to allocate your time more efficiently. Regularly reviewing and adjusting your goals can also keep your schedule relevant and aligned with your overall aspirations.

How can I ensure flexibility in my schedule?

To ensure flexibility in your schedule, build buffer time into your daily plan for unexpected tasks or interruptions. Avoid over-scheduling yourself by leaving gaps between tasks. Additionally, regularly review and adjust your schedule based on your progress and changing priorities. This adaptability allows you to respond to unforeseen circumstances without derailing your entire plan.

What are some tools or apps that can help with task management?

There are several tools and apps that can assist with task management, including Trello, Asana, and Todoist. These platforms allow you to create to-do lists, set deadlines, and track progress on various tasks. Additionally, calendar apps like Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook can help you organize your schedule and send reminders for important deadlines and appointments. Choose the tools that best fit your workflow and preferences to enhance your productivity.
