Cell Phone vs. Bible: A Thought-Provoking Comparison | Lisa's Reflections

In summary, this was on a BB for another Co. I sell for and this caught my eye. Cell phone vs. Bible- Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we flipped through it several time a day? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we used it to receive messages from the text? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to kids as gifts? What if we used it when we traveled? What if we used it in case of emergency? These are things to make you go hmm... where

Cell phone vs. Bible

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several time a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go... hmm... where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being
disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls!

If you have an iPhone, your cell phone CAN be your bible :)

So true!! I have been analyzing how I need to spend more time in the Bible.

Hi Lisa, you hit this right on!! Sadly some kids have never opened a bible, but they've all opened a cell phone.

I am proud to say, my son will cry when he forgets his Bible at home, but has little clue what a cell phone is. :)

I don't know if this will work on this site. If it doesn't and you would like me to send it to you.. I have it on e-mail. Ginger (Sorry some of my posts are so long)

I tried to add a Bible "select a verse" on here and it did not work It is a list of all teh bible verses.. you just click on the verse you want to look at. Again.. I can e-mail this to anyone interested. It's pretty cool.. you probably know about it.. but just in case..

Ginger,
WOW, I'm going to print these and keep around for a quick check list when I'm feeling or going through something that's on that list.

Thanks again,

Lisa

PS,
Wish I had the kind of cellphone that I could have bible on it, but I have old cheap one.

1. What is the comparison between a cell phone and a Bible?

The comparison between a cell phone and a Bible is meant to draw attention to the amount of time and attention we give to our phones versus our spiritual well-being. It highlights the importance of balancing technology with personal growth and reflection.

2. Why is this comparison thought-provoking?

This comparison is thought-provoking because it forces us to reflect on how much time we spend on our phones and how little time we devote to spiritual practices. It challenges us to consider the impact of technology on our daily lives and the potential consequences of neglecting our spiritual needs.

3. Is this comparison meant to discourage the use of cell phones?

No, this comparison is not meant to discourage the use of cell phones. It is simply meant to bring awareness to the amount of time we spend on our phones and how it may affect our spiritual growth. It encourages finding a balance and prioritizing time for both technology and self-care.

4. How can I apply this comparison in my daily life?

You can apply this comparison in your daily life by being conscious of the time you spend on your phone and making an effort to incorporate spiritual practices into your routine. This can include reading the Bible, meditating, or spending time in nature without distractions from technology.

5. Why is it important to have a balance between technology and spirituality?

Having a balance between technology and spirituality is important because it allows us to connect with ourselves, others, and a higher power. It can also improve our mental and emotional well-being, as well as our relationships. Neglecting one aspect for the other can lead to an imbalance in our lives.
