I printed up some flyers to pass around the neighbourhood in the catalog bags. I ordered over 200 fall catalogs but also ordered the mini's because they are a better deal. I'm wondering if I should just send around the mini cats with a label saying to contact me to request a current catalog, or if I should just pass around the fall catalogs so people can see our full line of fabulous products. Any suggestions??

I would pass around the mini catalogs.

Minis. Passing a catalog is a very passive way of advertising and isn't likely to yield huge results, so stick to the cheaper option.

Mini catalogs--with info on how to access your website to see the full catalog.

I agree w/the pp's. I would pass around mini's.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between catalogs and mini-cats in direct sales?

Catalogs are comprehensive brochures that showcase a wide range of products, often including detailed descriptions, pricing, and images. Mini-cats, or mini-catalogs, are smaller, condensed versions that highlight select products or seasonal offerings. They are designed for quick reference and can be more cost-effective for promotions.

When should I use a catalog instead of a mini-cat?

Use a catalog when you want to provide customers with a full view of your product line, especially during major sales events or when launching new products. Catalogs are ideal for in-depth presentations and can help customers explore all available options.

What are the advantages of using mini-cats for promotions?

Mini-cats are great for targeted promotions, as they focus on specific products or themes, making them easier for customers to digest. They are also more portable and can be distributed at events, parties, or included with orders, increasing the likelihood of impulse purchases.

How can I effectively use both catalogs and mini-cats in my sales strategy?

Integrate both tools by using catalogs for comprehensive product education and mini-cats for specific promotions or seasonal highlights. For example, you can hand out mini-cats at parties while encouraging customers to browse the full catalog for more options, creating a balanced approach to product promotion.

Are there any cost considerations when choosing between catalogs and mini-cats?

Yes, catalogs typically have a higher production cost due to their size and detail, while mini-cats are more budget-friendly. Consider your budget and the scale of your promotion when deciding which to use. It may be beneficial to invest in catalogs for major events while utilizing mini-cats for ongoing promotions or smaller gatherings.
