Can We Stop the Bad Deeds on eBay?

In summary, the person is selling items on eBay that are not supposed to be for sale until May. They are violating the rules and should be punished.

I have found several people doing the bad deed on ebay. What do you all say to them in your message to get their info to turn them in or get them to remove their products?

I find it best just to send to [email protected] with the Auction ID #'s and let HO deal with it how they wish.

OMG! LOL HERE WE GO AGAIN!! :p

The problem with finding people selling stuff this month is that unless it's blatantly obvious that they're an active consultant (like mention their PWS), you don't know that they aren't a member of the general public who purchased something and just wants to get rid of it. It's easier in the month before each new season when the samples are out for consultants, because anyone selling them that month MUST be a consultant!

Oh NO!!Not another thread on eBay!! :p

just happened to be looking around for a window cling...and came across a ton of new spring products....They are taking away from all of our businesses!

Since I started the last one, I think I will stay out of this one!! haha.....I have been checking once in awhile though...the only exciting thing about it is to see how many people are bidding on some of the new items.....they are gonna be good sellers!!! (I haven't had any shows with the new products yet)

Got a notice that there was a PC apron on ebay. Went to check it out and lo and behold, it's a NEW HWC apron!!

I sent this off to Richard

Richard,

How did this get on ebay so fast??

It's bad enough that we as consultants have to earn them or do without, but it gets old seeing this sort of thing on ebay.

Just got a response...

Carol,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are determining the seller’s identity as we speak and will make sure that this is addressed with her.

Thanks again.

Ok, I know this isn't ebay, but I was doing a search at my boyfriend's house since his computer messed up on me, and this is what I found:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=96792309

Do I send her a message and tell her that this is against the rules or just send it to HO?

Wow... I wonder how you would even go about finding her name or anything... unless someone contacts her as a "civilian" and asks for her website or something.

You going to mail that to Richard, Jennifer? With the additional links? I don't have time right now - have to jump offline - lunch is over...

Or, Elizabeth....since you found it, do you want to do the honors?

I don't have a problem with people selling consultant items to other consultants via eBay, so therefore do not care one way or the other about this apron sale.

However, selling PC products is a blatant violation.

Honestly, I've never sent anything like that to HO, so I wouldn't know what to do!! Feel free to send it with my blessings! Thanks!

Yeah really, and, and if you want to be illegal, but at least smart about it....make your profile private so that only your friends can see your "advertisements" ....

  • #25
Slow down already!! I just send him the first one....hold on and I will send him this one now!

I am avoiding housework, and just put a search on myspace for "Pampered Chef" I can not believe that there are so many profiles listed, with some form of mention they are a consultant and oh my the amount that come up with their websites listed right there.... ewwwww

I am not My space literate, but wondering why just mentioning that you are a consultant is illegal. I know having the link to your website it illegal Can some one educate this old dog?
Thanks!

  • #29
I think that it is okay to mention that you are a consultant. However, it is illegal to advertise your website, and also to be posting photos from HO for our own advertising on websites!

  • #30
I"m not sure if just mentioning that you are a consultant is illegal. But I would think that it would be some form of solicitation. However, I would think that if you're going to do it, you should make your profile private, that way you're only soliciting to those people on your "Friends" list. I have my profile set to private, and still don't mention anything about PC at all...not like the 6 friends that I do have really care...they all know about it anyway!

Wow, I need to read the rules again, I had no idea that putting a link to your PW was illegal. (I dont have one anyways so it doesnt matter) But still. I wouldve done it. Dont turn me in please.

Cori - login to CC and read the advertising policies and you'll be all set...

This person (first one mentioned on myspace) has an open profile, is advertising and blogging about it, and soliciting parties and sales. That is wrong for any of us!

Links are not allowed...we have to advertise by word-of-mouth, business card, etc. HO doesn't want to create an "unfair" advantage for those tech saavy and have all the search engines linking to us rather than the main company for many reasons...

And the heart of our business is RELATIIONSHIPS which are built through COOKING SHOWS not online sales. :)

I'm not sure how I feel about part where we can't have our website address out there. As for having an advantage b/c I have places to put it or know how, I could say the same thing about someone that's funnier or has an easier time remembering names or is more experienced in the kitchen. We all have things we are good at. No, I don't advertise where I'm not supposed to and I've never sold anything on ebay, much less PC. I have purchased a few postcards and other items (never product). I'm annoyed too when I see host only or not available yet products for ANY company...not just ours. That's what steals away business from us. As for the current product? That's another issue, but yes it is a personal business and we should meet those that we sell to (except for those placing outside orders...hmmm). People selling on ebay do not steal my business if I do my job. However, I'm very tempted to use my computer skills to go ahead and start selling online. I'd reach all sorts of people that obviously don't have consultants. Why shouldn't they get the benefit of my services too? I can do that over the phone and through email, right? Heck, that's as much as I currently am able to do with some of my customers.Sorry...soapbox time I guess. I agree that since it's in the "rules" that people shouldn't do these things, but I'm not quite sure if I definitely agree with the rules.

This chick's page makes me ill!!!! Not to mention Pi**ed off beyond belief! there is absolutely no online advertising except very specific circumstances! I admit it is tough to weed thru the guidelines but still.... This is too much!!!!

Hence why best to just report this one and not even confront her...Jennifer already did today...

Got to love it,... well Ihope they put her rear in a sling for that one....LOL well maybe not a sling d*MN IT ... that PO's me to no end!!!

I know we should all know the rules, but let's not hang the poor woman:eek: . She really may be oblivious. We've seen plenty of Cheffers that have admitted they didn't know all the rules, and as someone said, sometimes the rules are hard to decipher (OK, maybe not this rule, but with some of the advertising guidelines I'm like, "What???"). Since someone has already sent a note to HO, let them take care of it. I think it's fine that when we do see the rule-breakers we inform HO, but after that, it should be out of our hands.

  • #42
I think the thing that upset's me the most is that ..... it makes it hard for people like us to do things with our business becasue of Consultants that do no take the time to read the rules or find out by asking their upline what is acceptable and what is not.
