OK, I have done some searches on here, and I can't find how long to cook beef in the microcooker. I know that someone has talked about it, and now I need details.

I had someone ask me about it yeterday. She also wondered do you stop midway in the cooking process to crumble, etc. Anyone use the Micro-Cooker to brown meats? Please advise.

they won't brown, but I do use my micro-cooker a lot to cook ground beef...and sometimes chicken breast. I don't know how long I usually cook it. I put it in and after 3 or 4 min use my mix n chop on it and put it back in for a few more minutes and check it.

I cook all my ground meat in the MC. I do 5 min per pound. I do not stop in the middle. After the time is done, I will drain off the grease into my grease jar, with the lid to the MC on, then break up w/ the Mix n chop, there is usually more grease after it is mixed up and drain again. I haven't cooked meat on the stovetop in about 2 yrs...Love it...

Microwaves vary! I usually start with 5 min's, drain & use the mix 'n chop to see how much pink is left & then go from there. Here are the average cooking times that I've had at various shows with different microwaves :
1 lb thawed = 5-7 minutes
1 lb frozen = 7-8 minutes
2 lb thawed = 7-8 minutes
2 lbs frozen = 8-9 minutes

It's always easier to check it and then put it back in if needed. You can always cook it more, but you can't undo overcooking. ;)

Hi there!I'm happy to help with your question about cooking beef in the microcooker. The general rule of thumb for cooking beef in the microcooker is to cook it for 4-6 minutes per pound, depending on the thickness of the meat. It's always best to check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure it has reached a safe temperature. As for stopping midway to crumble, it really depends on the recipe you are using. If you are making ground beef for tacos or a casserole, it's best to stop and crumble the meat halfway through cooking. But if you are cooking a whole cut of beef, you can cook it all the way through without stopping to crumble.I personally love using the micro-cooker to brown meats, especially ground beef. It's quick and easy, and the meat comes out perfectly browned every time.I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions about using the microcooker for cooking beef. Happy cooking!
