I am getting ready to submit a show, and once again I've left my trusty book in my car which my husband has.
Can a past host who is getting the host special and a $25 item also get the free monthy special??? I can't remember if the host special negates the dollar amount. Her total with it is roughly $80, but only $25 is an actual purchase/non special.
 
The host and past host can get the guest special if they are spending $60 or more out of pocket (after discounts and before tax and shipping). So, the host special IS included in the out of pocket total. HTH

If your hosts purchase the roaster they are only 2 dollars away from also qualifying for the guest special. Just thought I would throw that out there.
