So haven't made my calls yet but at bible study this morning found out that I am in fact approved to do a Fundraiser for out church's AWANA program! They said I can do it anytime but I think I will wait till March because it will conflict with a host who's show is in February. All her invites are from church. I will report back with more news later!

So in addition to this contact this morning, I just collected an order for my MIA Janurary host that I recently got ahold of yesterday. So her party is at $144 now. ($118 commissionable for me). At least I know it will qualify. Better than nothing I suppose.

I also called a few more answering machines......sigh.

Gave a catty to my brother too.

I have my first cooking show for the month on Sunday so I am praying for a miracle for sales and bookings. My goal was $3000-$4000 per month and I don't know if I will even get to the $1000 mark the way I am doing so far. Just gotta keep making those calls I guess!

Last night I did a show--15 guests in attendance. A couple didn't order, but I got a few bookings. The really cool thing is that one of the guests was my son's kindergarten teacher. (We moved out of that school system before he began first grade.) It was a lot of fun.

Good to see you back Paulette! Now if only I could get my contacts in today.....

I had six contacts today. One wants me to send her a new mini-cat once I have them. Also, this morning I got an order from a CCC I made week before last. She requested a catalog, so I sent her one along with a January OOF. I called her this week to make sure she had gotten it and to see if she needed anything. Had to leave a voice mail. She called yesterday to say that she wanted to place an order, but wanted to give her mom a chance to see the catalog. She asked if she could call me today with an order. (Um, yeah, sure, I suppose that would be okay. ;)) She called this morning with a $47 order. Then, this afternoon, another customer called to place an order because she's almost out of SCarS. She ordered 10! She wants to give them to her daughters, granddaughters, and a couple of friends for Valentine's Day.Have I mentioned lately that I love my job?

Huh? Seasons....No, s... ok I've had one too many glasses of wine and I'm ready for bed. I don't get it.:D

Sarah, SCarS is the Caramel Sprinkles I believe.

Paulette, Good for you! I think the more and more you get on the phone, the easier it should become to make the calls. I listened to a conference call the other night. (Inside Scoop call for Sherri Carr and Nancy Francis downline). Part of the call reviewed the Phone Courage workshop that was given at Leadership. Here is a bit from that:

What 2 workds describe the emotions you feel when it comes time to pick up the phone? It is probably "frustration, stress, dread........." Well, when you pick up the phone and have those feelings inside you, you are more apt to project those feelings, instead of projecting a positive tone to the customer. Then we had to put either a smiley face, straight face or a frown next to the following:

PC reputation, business opportunity, support, PC products, rewards, and mission statement. Now, most of us will have put a smiley face next to these things, thinking about how great Pampered Chef is, and what we have to offer. We need to think about all those things and project our happiness when we get on the phone. I hope that makes sense!

The other note that was mentioned during the Phone Courage class, was "Just Do It!!".

I have started to implement that to my recruiting goals, and am making it a point to ask everyone (okay, attempting to ask almost everyone) about the opportunity at my shows, and already out of two shows this week, I have 3-4 recruiting leads.

My contacts today were made at my show. There were about 13-14 in attendance. Sales are at $400 including outside orders. I talked to the host some more about the opportunity. It sounds like she is really interested in signing. She is going to talk to her husband about it, and then we will discuss it during her close! She will have a February catty show to start her out, as well as 2-3 possible shows from tonights show. Another guest also thought about the opportunity, but "is just too busy". I gave her a DVD and brochure, and asked her to take a look at it, and I will follow up!! And the hostess's stepdaughter has also thought about it but "doesn't know alot of people, etc. I also gave her some info. Now to follow up!!!!!

Bren that is so awesome!

For me I only had one PC contact today. A past host of mine needs a catalog b/c one of her co-workers needs to order something. Not sure what yet. Hope it's something good!

So, I have pretty much a "no soliciting business at church" rule....I am on staff at my church in a leadership position, and really don't think it's appropriate to abuse that position for personal gain.....with that said -

Today, at church, I was meeting with one of my volunteer teams before first service, and part of that team includes 2 past hosts - a MIL & DIL duo, and the FIL.....So, the FIL asks me if I am still busy with shows all the time, and then asks about how much I make if I'm doing 2 shows per week.....well, then, DIL (who is bubbly, bright, and a charmer!) tells me she is having knee surgery next week, and won't be able to go back to work until the end of March (She's a Vet Tech)...and she has been thinking that PC would be a fun job to do! We are meeting later this week to talk - and her mom is having a show Feb 9, so I'm thinking of either offering to let her do the show, or offering her the bookings from that show if she signs!:)

Then, I went down to meet with my Cafe Volunteer team, and one lady grabs me and says that she was at a PC party last night - didn't care for the consultant, and would like to book a party for March or April!

THEN - another past host overhears our conversation, and asks if I know when the knives will be going on sale again.....and since she has expressed some interest in signing before - I let her know about the knife incentive going on right now.....and I'm supposed to get her some more info and call her to set up an appt.!

AND THEN!!!! I had someone else who has been wanting to have a show, but we haven't been able to connect, and she literally hunted me down to get a date for her FEBRUARY show!! Whoo Hooo!

AND THEN, (YEP - there's more!:D ) We had just finished lunch, and I got a phone call from someone who was at a show a couple weeks ago. Her daughter is getting married in April, and they just decided they'd like to do a PC Bridal Shower....in FEBRUARY!!! Booked another one!

AND THEN (and this is the last - I promise!) My new recruit just called to let me know that she got another booking for the first week of February, and it is with the daughter of woman who works with her boyfriends father! Did you get all that? The reason it is so exciting is because it is completely removed from her friends and family circle - which is a great way to begin your business! I'm so excited for her!

WOW Becky! That is Awesome!!!

Becky that is so wonderful!!!

I think I'm hitting a slump. February has 10 shows and a catty going. That should be wonderful I know, but I had a show cancel on Friday night and really haven't made my contacts this weekend. Going to attempt to close out some shows tonight, but I don't think I'm going to make the $3k mark to get the bonus points, so that has me bummed. But the biggest is my team (11) have NOT submitted anything this month. I mean, not ONE single show and or sale!!   Oh well, as Rae would say, I'm going to pull up my big girl panties and deal with it.....AFTER I go and eat some ice cream!

Amy, just remember that something like 90% of all shows are turned in the last 2 days of the month....or something like that....there is still 5 days for them to turn in shows! I know that, although I've had several shows this month, only 2 of them have actually been submitted....my shows didn't even start until the 15th...and I still have 3 more before the end of the month!

And, sometimes, the best thing you can do for you and your business is to take a break and eat some ice cream!:D

WHOHOO Becky! There are the blessings for being faithful and having the proper motivation and attitude for your show yesterday! :D

Amy~ Becky is right. I hadn't turned anything in until last week and that was only $271. I still have a show today and another catalog show that I will be turning in before the end of the month. Enjoy that ice cream.

Becky~ You AMAZE me! God is so good and I LOVE to hear about how great your biz is going. I have the same church rule as well. It's nice when they come to you.

As for me, I plan to get my contacts in at my show tonight. My show may even be done in time for me to get on the phone afterwards too. I will keep you all posted. I am trying to not be nervous. This is my first show since December 9th!

very interesting! Well, one a good note, one of my shows that I'm closing at 7pm has had almost another $100 in online orders this afternoon! This is a catty host that I met in October, and I hate to admit this, but I have NEVER talked to her on the phone. She only wants email communications, except for tonight We'll close at about $400:D

Ellen, you're right! God is good. I am so grateful, and feel so blessed. I have been praying that God would use me ~ and make my business a ministry too.

There is this old Steve Camp song that has been running through my mind for several weeks now, the title of the song is "Run To The Battle", and it starts out like this"

"Some people want to live within the sounds of chapel bells, but I want to run a mission just yards from the gates of Hell...." And That is sort of how my heart has been leaning more and more. I want my PC business to touch lives and bring me in contact with people who need to meet Jesus. I love the shows and stuff from church....but I always tell them to make sure and invite people outside of their church family circle!

Becky~WOW!!! It goes to show you have formed some great relationships with your customers! Way to go! That is awesome!

Amy~My director just sent out an e-mail, asking us if we have any shows to submit, as we are $900 off. I agree, most shows are closed at month end. I just finished my third show for this weekend, and I have one more. I am hoping to get them ALL closed by Thursday.

My contacts were made at my show today. There were approx. 7 guests including the past host.

The host is a possible recruit lead, but she isn't ready yet. She is in the middle of trying to sell her house, etc., so I told her I will keep in touch with her.

I gave the opportunity brochure and DVD to another guest, who had hesitated when I asked "have you ever thought about doing this". She is a stay at home mom (like me) and is busy, so I told her to take the info, and I will follow up! And she is also interested in hosting (if she doesn't sign) in April.

And there is 1-2 more potential bookings as well. I am kind of disappointed, as this was the third show this weekend, and I only have 1 catalog show, but no definete February bookings. I want at least 5 more shows on my calendar for February, so it looks like I need to have a long list of phone calls to make on Tuesday. (I have another show Monday).

Well my show tonight was a flop. I am not really surprised though as the host didn't do anything I recommended. She only invited 15 people total so it was not a big surprise when only her mom and her sister showed up. She also didn't do any of the reminder calls until 5 minutes after her party should've started and no one was there. Only $60 in sales so far and NO bookings. Between her mom, sis and hubby collecting an order for her she hopes to at least qualify.

I guess I gotta roll with the punches. I am disappointed, but at least I got "used to the water" again after not doing a show since the beginning of December.

that really sucks about your show... I am sorry

That would be Sweet Caramel Sprinkles. Sorry to confuse you. My question is: Were you testing out the new Wine Bottle Opener? If so, drink up! :D

I had no Sunday contacts. I'll be making calls today, though.

Brenda, Ellen, Sarah, and others......I wanted to share something with you that I have been sharing with my new recruit.....

At her show, where she decided to sign, she had 4 bookings....people who said they would help her get started. Well, after she signed, all but one of them backed out on her. The one who didn't back out was her Grandma, and she didn't want to have her show until the middle of Feb......(she signed Dec 31st) so naturally, she has felt discouraged. No bookings, leads not panning out, and she is a young single mom struggling with self-esteem issues......
The biggest thing I keep telling her is to not quit! No matter what, don't quit! I had a rough time when I first started too - it took me 3 months to just qualify, (we had to do 6 shows back then) and I signed under one of my best friends, who was also new, so most of my friends had just had shows or already booked shows with her.......It took me 8 months to really get my business stable, and then I got pregnant, and ended up on bedrest for 4 months....and had a premature baby, and it took me (seriously!) a year to figure out how to be consistent and manage a baby and a business.
During that time I was slowly but surely building up a loyal customer base, and gaining more and more hosts who rebooked, and referred me to others who would book.....but it took a long time!!! I had plenty of months with only 1-2 shows, and no bookings, and wondering where I was going to go next.....
I am having some great success with 3-2-1, but I don't think it has been an overnight success. I think 3-2-1 has been a way to implement all of the hard work I have been putting into my business for the last 5 years!

For years my wonderful, encouraging director has told me that I am doing all of the right things for all of the right reasons, and that eventually it will pay off. Saturday, at our regional meeting she said to me "See - I told you it would pay off!":D
So, when you are feeling discouraged, or disappointed because your show didn't turn out the way you wanted, or your calendar isn't where you want it to be....Don't give up, don't quit, and surround yourself with people (like us here!:D :D :D ) who will encourage you and support you and help keep you going. I have no secrets to success - the only thing I have done is be persistent and consistent. That's it. (Oh - and been open to trying new show styles etc....!)

You guys are all doing the right things, and for the right reasons.....so I know that eventually you will see the results you want and need!

One last thing - my recruit? She now has 3 cooking shows and a catalog show on the books for February! I'm so proud of her!

Great words of encouragement, Becky! I am also finding that CONSISTENCY is the key. If you are consistent in making your calls, it WILL lead to bookings, and if you are consistently asking everyone about the opportunity, you WILL find recruit leads.

Thanks Becky! I will TRY to remember that. You are such an encouragement!

Nope, but that does remind me, I'm pretty sure that I earned Level 2 for the SAT, but I think I only got Level 1! I am going to have to go back and check my show dates (I know my Nov sales were well over the $3000, but not sure of the show dates) before I call and cause havoc with HO!

Thanks Becky. I am actually finding it much easier to find people to call now with over a year of shows behind me. I can't wait to see where I am at 4 years from now, but I am definitely going to enjoy the journey!!

i had contacts today, but none that really count as it was mostly host coaching. No new leads to follow up with or visible results.

I also had some team contacts as well. Seems some have Feb shows lined up, but nothing to submit for Jan. And some, well they seem to have been abducted. No response to any of my calls, emails, postcards etc.

I had my final show of my weekend long marathon tonight. (I had shows Friday, Sat, Sun, and tonight). It may just be my best show ever in sales. There were about 9-10 in attendance. Sales are currently at $756 (my best is $839)which includes an outside order of $357 for cookware and another item or so!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and a couple more outside orders and at least 2-3 more orders to come. No bookings or recruit leads though. (Well, I didn't take the opportunity to ask one of my past host (who is also a friend) about booking. I think her PHD expires in June, so I might have her book now, so that her friend can get the booking benefit). I will see her on Wednesday.

Yeah Brenda! I hope you beat your personal best!

I had a meeting with a potential recruit. She is definitely going to sign, just at the end of February after her daughter gets married on the 21st. Woohoo!! She will be my second recruit, but my first went inactive at the beginning of the month. I tried calling her today, but she had company and wanted to call me back. We'll see. I'm not expecting much from her, but I definitely will help her if she is still into it!!:D
