Had a show tonight with 12 guests. 2 bookings, and sales are at $850, with several outside orders coming.....(there were supposed to be 24 there, but because of the weather, half canceled - good thing the show was so big to begin with!)

The best parts were that I was able to accomplish full service check-out with everyone, and both of the bookings were with people I really connected with, and who were a lot of fun at the show - so I'm really looking forward to working with them!

That is awesome Becky, good job!!

I had a couple more contacts, but nothing definite.

Wow, everyone must be working hard tonight.

I went to the eye doctor today. (For any of those who are wondering, I tend to schedule my annual checkups all about the same time. That makes it easier for me to remember and gets everything out of the way at once.) I now have another May show. Made four contacts. I love my job.

I booked another catalog show today! :) That's 6 for the month!!!! Some are small, some a little more but every little bit counts. This was a lady who was interested from an e-mail I sent in January, but her FIL was in the hospital and they were driving an hour each night to see him.I e-mailed checking in JUST ON HIM - didn't mention PC at all!She e-mail back saying he was out of the hospital and now in rehab locally so how about that catalog show?I desperately need to work on March and April more, but February is rounding out better than expected! Especially with the whole family sick and out of commission for a week! God knew I needed catalog shows!

Yea Janet! Maybe some of these catalog shows will garner some bookings for March and April!

Not usually, but one that did a catalog show this month, booked another catalog show for April (wants spring products and the colander set).

She is up to 3 catalog shows a year for me now average! :)

She also told me that the cooking show and catalog show I lost to another consultant was due to the fact that the other consultant told people she'd enter their shows as cooking shows and give them $15 free. It hurt my sales with a catalog show going at work because the host beat this lady to EVERYONE! Oh well, in the long run, I know I'm running my business honestly and it will eventually catch up to this consultant (I hope...) I've lost a few shows to this consultant and her director with their "not so honest" methods, but know God will bless in the long run.

P.S. Becky - GOOD sales yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry you have to deal with that situation - but you are right....God will bless. My director always says "do the right thing, at the right time, and for the right reason, and you can't lose."

No phone calls for me again today. But when I went to pick up my girl scout cookies, the lady (who had a small catty show for me last summer) told me she gave my name to someone and I should expect a call in the next few days.

Also, I attended a Usbourne Book show tonight. The consultant did not have a PC rep, so we talked about exchanging parties. (I was thinking about booking before she talked about exchanging, because I am a sucker for children's books, and I had a long wish list). I booked a May show, and gave her my business card. I will be adding her to my newsletter list, and we will probably talk about booking her show in April.

Amy, how is 3-2-1 going for you? Are you hiding on us? How about everyone else? (Sarah, JAE, Ellen)

I LOVE Usbourne Books! It's the only other home party plan that I find interesting. My consultant stopped selling and there isn't another in the close vicinity, so a while back I actually toyed with the idea of selling books too. Decided to focus just on PC - but I love the books!

I had to leave all messages today!! I am making myself make calls when the boys go down for their naps in the afternoon, but it's not really working out well. No one is home! I guess I will have to go back to evening calls. Oh well!

I have a show tomorrow evening and there should be around 7-10 in attendance so that should be fun. I'm thinking of changing up a couple of things based on the Lemon Aid Lady's book "Presentations for Profits." Wish me luck!

Yesterday my second contact of the day was with the woman to whom my PC box was delivered. That's right, I have FedEx to thank for another meeting. :( I've contacted the HO.Made four contacts in total, with no real results. Got in some good host coaching calls, though.

Had a show last night. Another $1000!! WAHOO!!!! Only trouble is I'm not getting any bookings, or I am just getting one at these shows. I have asked everyone! Last night there was one person who booked, one who's SIL is a consultant and one who's best friend just started selling. Everyone else placed big orders but did not want to book. I mean I even had one lady who bought the 12 Qt stockpot! I told her how she could get it at a discount by even doing a catalog show, but no go! Her friends were telling her she was crazy! Oh well, I'll take that commission!

So I got all of my contacts there last night. I'm going to try one more day of afternoon contacts even though they haven't been that great for me. Next week I will try to get back to making calls in the evening.

How's everyone else doing? Any shows planned this weekend?

I have my first power cooking show tomorrow....hoping that goes okay.

I had a fun interactive show last night - only 5 in attendance, but got 3 bookings.

The nice thing about being in a location with the highest unemployment/worst economic forecast in the nation is that everyone wants to book to get stuff for free!:D

I can't wait to hear how your power cooking show goes! I'm excited for that one. I have a friend who is interested in doing it...in May!:(

Oh, and Sarah - congrats on the $1000 show - you are going to have an amazing paycheck this month!

Well I've been in contact with 3 people who are checking their calendars for spring shows - probably will all book in April - I already have 2 shows scheduled then and a catalog show so I'm psyched! Don't have another show til Feb. 29th but then have 2 in March as well.

Way to go on your $1k show, Sarah!!!! I am still waiting for the day of my $1000 show.

Last night, had a show, with only 4-5 guests in attendance. Two of them were guests at the same show that the host attended. The fifth one did not arrive until the demo was done. She had just been at a show a couple of weeks ago, and has recently attended/hosted some other DS shows. She may book a show 5-6 months out. One of the repeat guests may book a March show, but also thinks PC may be a great opportunity for her DIL, who is an Army wife. I am going to follow up with this guest on Tuesday, before I close the show.

Today, I got an e-mail posted on a loop from a fellow clustermate looking for someone to do a show scheduled for tomorrow. She has back pains, and does not want to cancel on the host So, now I have a show booked for tomorrow! Yay!! So, I talked to the host. The clustermate mentioned that the host said there a 4 potential bookings, 2 catty shows and 2 kitchen shows.

I talked to another contact today, and booked a March catty show.

Talked to a couple February hosts to try to close out. One needs to wait until payday (next Friday). Another one wants to wait until Monday. And there are 3 that are MIA! UGH! :yuck:

Had a show today. I made 8 contacts and asked them all if they would be interested in having a show. "No" was the answer I received. One older lady even told me she is a QVC shopper and had never heard of The Pampered Chef. Glad she found something of value to purchase. One person is toying with the idea of throwing a PC bridal shower. The host will talk to her about it. The one man was asking me all about the business opportunity. I gave him the brochure. I wish I would have given him the info about the knives. I still can.

Had a Power Cooking Show today - Yuck!:yuck:

Did not like the format. I felt like I was showing very minimal tools - and, maybe you have to be more organized then I am, but I felt like it was completely disjointed. I wasn't comfortable with it at all - and I got no bookings.
(So I agree with you, JAE!)

However - the past host was there, and when she checked out, she told me she had really been thinking about it, and she thought maybe she would like to be a consultant.:D
She is quiet, and she told me that she wasn't sure because she just isn't a salesperson.....but at her show, she got $300 in outside orders, so that made her think that the products really do sell themselves. We talked about a more interactive show format - and she thinks she could do that.

I gave her the DVD, and she is going to watch it this weekend, and then I'll call her Monday.

Becky, what recipe did you serve? My show on March 10, we are serving the stroganoff.

I prepared for the freezer the Stroganoff, and the Chili, and we served the BBQ's. The chili - really, the only tool it shows is the can opener - had guests all open cans. The stroganoff, also the can opener......and a few other minor tools......I did sell a 12" skillet, but it was to the past host, so it wasn't commissionable - and it was 60% off. Most of the tools are used before the show, when you pre-cook the meat.

I think maybe the tacos would be the best one to serve because then you could grate cheese, chop tomatoes, slice olives with Egg Slicer Plus, pipe sour cream with EAD. The SA dishes could be used to serve. I really think the ground meat needs to be cooked with guests around, but kitchens aren't all well suited for that as a demo. Everyone could take turns with the food chopper and knives and the Mix N Chop. Three people can use the Garlic Press. KWIM?

That is EXACTLY what I thought! If anyone wants to do this show in the future, I will insist that we do the tacos as the demo! I could also do salsa with the salad choppers to show even more tools! I would even break down and invest in a single burner for this show. I talked about all of the tools used before the show, but it is not the same as guests actually seeing and using them!

Yesterday, I made my first contact of the day while signing my DS up for soccer. The woman doing the registering (who I asked her first) had not heard of PC, but has hosted candle parties. I gave her a mini F/W '07 catty, and got her contact info to follow up.

I had a show yesterday. I just acquired the show on Friday from a fellow clustermate (that I had not met yet). She had back pain and did not want to cancel on her host.

The host (who had only spoke to the consultant once, most of the "coaching" was done thru the sister of the host, who is a coworker of the consultant) had $420 in outside orders, and 3 bookings (2 cattys, 1 kitchen). At the show, there were 7-9 guests, including the mother and 2-3sisters of the host.

I think the host's sister was originally going to have this as a bridal show, but they changed it to a regular show, as everyone was talking about helping the host get the 1/2 price cookware set. I only got $60 in additional orders at the show, but I think everyone was waiting for payday, as well as wanting to help the host out, so they were indecisive of what to order.

Three sisters were all interested in booking (April, June, and possibly May).

When I spoke to the other consultant about taking this show, we were both unsure of how to handle the bookings. She did mention that maybe I would take the bookings and if I couldn't fit them in my schedule, I could hand some to her. I posted the thought on another thread, and there were mixed reviews. I traveled 50 minutes for this show, and could really use the bookings.................

So, DH was at work ALL NIGHT ~ a power line had been knocked down in an accident, and he was paged at 11:45 that there was no power on the campus (he is the dir. of maintenance for an Assisted Living Center.) He ended up having to be there until 7:30 am.....sooooo, this afternoon, I took DS shopping so DH could rest and get some sleep. Can I just say that Sunday afternoon is a ZOO at the Mall, Target, and Costco? YUCK!:yuck:

I was dressed in all of my PC glory, but I think my face said "get me out of here"....so I didn't make any contacts.

Yes, I'm usually in shock when I have to shop on weekends because I usually shop during the day and home by 3:30! Weekends are insane when shopping.

Well I talked to a host last night for this Friday's show - she has 11 coming so far and let me know that a bunch of guys will be there as well - I'm psyched cause guys don't seem to think twice about buying the higher priced items. Then I got an email this morning regarding someone who wants an April date - I have 3 cooking and 1 catalog show for April already with probably 2 more cooking shows to come. And I got my HWC fundraiser for May lined up at my Curves as well. Not bad for a few minutes work!
