Hi everyone,

I have some bad news but I think it is important that you know about
it. After just spending almost an hour on the phone with tech
support we have come to realize that there is a glitch while updating
contacts within a show. If you are in a show and you hit the "update
contact" button (like after you change a phone number or something
and you want that new info to stay in the contact) then it overwrites
the contact and deletes info that is in the contact but not in the
show. This is hard to explain but let me try.

There are several fields that are in the contact but you can't see
from the show. For instance: spouse, birthday, anniversary, and all
the other fields under "additional info," notes, and the check boxes
for potential host and recruit, home office, etc. If you want to put
information in these fields once you are in a show, you have to click
on "edit contact" from the show to do it. I did that and then must
have at a later point clicked "update contact" while in the show.
And all my extra info in the contact is gone. The tech could
recreate the glitch.

So, don't click "update contact" while you are in a show, unless you
are very sure that you don't have ANY additional information in the
contact that you can't see in the show.

I just got off the phone and the tech reported it, but obviously I
have no info on how long it will take to get it fixed.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Please pass this along to anyone
who might be using P3. PP is in no way affected by this.

Yes, I saw this the other day and e-mailed...hmm...I'm pretty sure they said it was logged to be fixed...
 
Actually, we've been using a different "work around" to get information into the contact, but this is MUCH easier. And now I know why they added the "edit contact" button in the first place. I couldn't figure out why you would ever need that. This has been driving me nuts!! Thanks so much for sharing this information Colleen!JenniI'm so glad this was helpful Jenni!
