Personally, I prefer the new set. I like the 'feet' it has, the tighter colander spacing, and how if feels overall. I had the old set for years and never used it; my new bowls seem to be in use all the time. (Still, I prefer the old coffe carafe...even though the new one keeps things hot longer, and I definitely prefer the old iron SA pieces.)
