Anyone Done Something Like This

ok this is the deal....Myself and a fellow consultant did a fundraiser for our church...the host lady asked if we would come back and do a show/class for the ladies of the church. So we did that. The ladies each paid $5 ea. to cover the cost of groceries. Then we all gathered in the kitchen and cooked the meal. I didn't mind doing it b/.c it was for the church...but it wasn't a large turn out we ended up with around $140 in orders. Now they would like for us to come back next month and do another cooking class with the youth. The youth kids will cook and serve the ladies. Again they will pay $5 to cover groceries. (whatever is left over goes to the church) My question is what can we do to boost sales or make it more worth while for us. Again I am not looking really to make money since it is my church but maybe some bookings. I think these ladies are going to be wore out with PC if we go in May this will be the 3rd month they have seen us! Also I need some recipes that are not pricey but feed alot. There will be around 25 mouths to feed. Thanks Cheffers

Recipe-wise, the Creamy One Pot Pasta feeds a bunch, especially if you use extra veggies and add some grilled chicken.Make sure to point out that it's a FR for the church and that a portion of their purchases will go to the church. Many times, people will buy a little more if they know it's a FR.

Ann that is a great idea about the one post pasta. This would be easy for the youth to do also.

This part isn't a FR. We did the FR back in March. This is more of a cooking class type show. The youth will be helping us with the recipes. Of course we will have catalogs and OOf set out.

For the "youth", I would send them home with something to have mom and dad place an order.

I agree with the one pot pasta. Also club house chicken squares can be cut into 24 peices or more depending on the size.

What about "packaging" some of the products used for the recipe together and instead of or in addition to the $5 they pay for the items (you get pre-payment and order them before the demo so they can take them home with them that day.) I don't know if that is a possibility but you could do a pasta spoon, some seasonings... bamboo stuff - just an idea.
