Hey,

I was thinking of trying a contest box using a slip like the drawing slips and making a cute box or use a fish bowl, and asking a small restaurant to put it at their checkout counter.

They could maybe win a free entree at that restaurant - one person each month would win, and the rest win FREE pampered chef parties...

Has anyone tried anything like this?

I've gotten good sales leads and shows from leaving my business cards near the register or any other place that will let you.
We used to have those boxes when I worked with Rainbow and found that you'll get some families filling out 10 cards and lots of kids filling them out.

what kind of bussiness card do you leave

The PC card from merrill. It works better than catalogues and is a lot cheaper.

I second the business cards idea! I went and bought a few cheap holders and had it ready when I asked. That way they are contained and the business doesn't have to provide one.

I've left them at Curves before - usually during HWC. I didn't get any promising results from it.

I had really good success with fish bowls with a different direst sales company, but haven't yet tried it with Pampered Chef. Because of kids entering, I had made custom sheets that asked age, and on my sign, I put you must be 18.

I had 2 good shows by leaving my cards at a hardware store where contractors advertise. One was the owner's wife and the other was an employee.
I got a $100+ order by leaving my cards near the register at a restaurant.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are contest boxes in the context of direct sales?

Contest boxes are promotional tools used by direct sales consultants, such as those with Pampered Chef, to engage potential customers and generate leads. They typically contain a variety of products or samples and are placed in public locations, like restaurants, where patrons can enter to win the box by providing their contact information.

How do I set up a contest box at a restaurant?

To set up a contest box at a restaurant, first, approach the restaurant management to seek permission. Once approved, create an appealing contest box that includes a sign explaining the contest, a way for participants to enter (like a drawing slip), and any relevant Pampered Chef branding. Make sure to check in regularly to maintain the box and encourage participation.

What types of restaurants are best for contest boxes?

Family-friendly restaurants, cafes, and local eateries are often the best choices for contest boxes. These venues typically have a steady flow of customers who may be interested in home cooking products. Additionally, consider restaurants that align with your target market for Pampered Chef products.

How can I promote my contest box effectively?

Promote your contest box by using social media to announce its location and encourage participation. You can also create flyers or business cards to distribute at the restaurant and share information about the contest. Engaging with the restaurant’s staff can help them promote the box to customers as well.

What should I do with the contact information collected from the contest box?

Use the collected contact information to follow up with participants, thanking them for entering and offering them special promotions or discounts on Pampered Chef products. Be sure to comply with any privacy regulations and provide an option for them to opt-out of future communications if they wish.
