Delicious Vegetarian Meal Ideas for a Sunday Show - Dcb Options

I'm mostly vegetarian and the Penne al Fresco is one of my favorite dishes. I've used both water and veggie broth in place of the chicken broth, and both work well. I use a can of cannellini beans (rinsed) in place of the chicken. Add them during the last couple minutes of cooking. You could...

Need Help with a Gluten-Free Recipe? Here Are Some Ideas!

Depending on where you live you can also find gluten-free pasta, flour, and cake and cookie mixes quite easily now. If you have a Trader Joe's they have a good assortment of gluten-free items, as should most health food stores and any well-stocked "regular" grocery store. Also, if the host...

Using the Grinders When Recipes Call for Specific Measurements

I don't have our grinders yet (love them though - they are so handsome!) But, I'm a touch OCD :blushing: so I thought I'd share what I did with my grinder at home. I counted the number of grinds it took to reach 1 tablespoon (I think it was 15) and then wrote that on a small piece of paper that...

Zesty Ravioli Skillet Dinner for Show on Monday

I made this for a show recently and it went really well. A couple changes I made out of necessity: 1. Didn't us a pepper because I never stopped at a store that had one (my fault) 2. Instead of provolone (I couldn't find a block) I used pepper jack cheese, which also helped make up for the...

Delicious Honey Apple Brie Bites: A Must-Try Recipe for Easy Entertaining

We made these at our cluster meeting this week, and while everyone liked them, most of us thought they could use something. (We used pie crust instead of phyllo cups because our director couldn't find them, and she went to four stores! But the pie crust was yummy, I'd definitely use it again.)...

Vegan Recipes: Share Your Best-Tested Dishes Here!

Vegan is really not that hard, unless you depend entirely on processed foods which do contain a lot of hidden animal products. You can also find vegan substitutes for practically everything from sour cream and cream cheese to meat. I routinely feed people vegetarian and vegan foods and they have...

Grand Opening! $220 of Free Products - What to Get?

12" Skillet (all my recipes offered are either in the skillet or DCB) Santoku Knife (trust me, the one that comes in your kit is not big enough) Tool Turn About (organize your tools, make them easier to find and show set-up much simpler) Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls (you'll find yourself needing...

What to Do With Leftover Ganache?

I don't know how thick your ganache is once it has cooled, but if it is reasonably firm that is your basic truffle. Just scoop it our with the small scoop and roll it in whatever you like - chopped nuts, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, etc. Ta-da - homemade truffles!

Help Needed: Appetizer Ideas from All the Best Cookbook

I thought so too, so I suggested the Artichoke and Spinach dip and the Mushroom Focaccia. And she's going to make a salad (she wants there to be enough food that everyone can eat dinner).

Help Needed: Appetizer Ideas from All the Best Cookbook

A little guidance needed for my show tomorrow. My host wants to make an appetizer or two out of All the Best and is asking for tips on which one's to do. I don't have the cookbook in front of me (I'm at work for the next 11.5 hours), so I'm hoping one of you does and can post recipe names...

Choosing My Bonus Stoneware: Round Stone with Handles Dilemma

Right that would be a challenge! I just liked my old round stone so much I think I'm a little incensed that they changed it, but I can definitely see how the handles help.

Kitchen Shears: How to Sharpen and Maintain Them for Optimal Performance

I don't have those shears, I have the old "new" ones from when they were white. BUT regardless, she should be able to sharpen them on aluminum foil. Just fold a piece up a couple times and cut through it with the shears several times. That should do the trick. But truly, unless she doesn't want...

Choosing My Bonus Stoneware: Round Stone with Handles Dilemma

Okay, thanks. Would you go with the large round stone, or the medium? It seems to me that there might be issues with the large fitting into smaller ovens.

Choosing My Bonus Stoneware: Round Stone with Handles Dilemma

I'd like to get your input. I earned the new consultant bonus of 2 pieces of stoneware of my choice (yay!). I do have a bit of a dilemma though. I already have nearly all the stoneware. I think I am going to get another DCB so I'll have both colors and because I think they are super useful. For...
