What worries me about Obama's policies?

In summary, Cathy does not like the idea of national healthcare because she does not think it is a good thing for the people or the country. She also does not think that unions, social programs, etc. have been successful in adjusting to the new needs. She also thinks that the lack of leadership experience is a problem.

Another example of the extreme bias that goes on..
I read an article this morning about the conservative celebrities and Keley Grammer was quoted in it that he was forced early in his career to contribute to a democratic candidate for fear of losing his job. Someone else was quoted as saying that they can't belive Palin gets made fun of so much when there's so much good material on Obama. I'm gonna try and find that article again..and post it...it was interesting.

My DH heard about the statement that Biden made yesterday. He said the radio program indicated that the FBI has already been meeting with the two candidates on this so that either of them can prepare. That's scary.

For the most part, the MSM is not making this a news story at all. Because they know if they do, McCains ratings will soar.

I didn't watch MTP on Sunday when he made the statement, but the only reason I heard about it was on Rush yesterday...

I just saw an article in the Adirondacks News that there is a possibly serious meeting going on right now. A United States plane landed at the airport there and it was unloaded by military and had many top leaders of other countries on it. I got the e-mail.. how can I put it on here???
Somethings is cooking.. and has been.

I am praying that McCain gets BOLD in these last remaining days before the election and points out that the current economic situation can be directly related to Democrats.....I really think we need the undecideds to hear this from McCain!

I agree. I'm very disapointed in his complacency (sp?)-I feel that he needs to adopt a real sense of urgency and not be like George Bush Sr. was the second time he ran, and like Bob Dole was when he ran. IT IS NOT in the bag for McCain- he needs to fight for this like he fought for his life when he was a POW!

Sorry, I'm a little worked up today. :)

Here's a response about Biden's remarks.

http://www.bennettmornings.com/blog;jsessionid=36AFB15EF234B8A274180F12FDAEBB32?action=viewBlog&blogID=-56301266458641678

Biden said something like that Obama is going to be tested by foreign leaders, and he needs his supporters to respond to the test.

Now, we are not supposed to be concerned about Obama's judgement, right? We are supposed to trust his judgement in the same way we trust his judgement when choosing a church and choosing alliances? Hmmm.

Right, because just like they decided with President Clinton...what you do in your personal life has nothing to do with how you govern or make really important decisions. So if you can't make wise tiny decisions, I guess you automatically become stellar at making big decisions..:blushing::rolleyes:

Well if it's being reported it can't be all that worrisome, but interesting nonetheless...

It was reported.. but just in that local news. Someone snapped the pic.. and probably didn't know much else to report. I agree it may not mean anything.. but it also might mean something. I haven't heard the news anywhere else. Has anyone see this on any other news. Pretty squelched to me. And I agree.. very interesting.. especially since it is being reported that CIA is talking to both candidates about the near future.

A lady at our local Republican headquarters said she heard that when the question of Obama's birth certificate first came up.. he went to Hawaii to "Visit" ....hence his trip in August... and it is all coming to a head about his birth certificate now.. and where is he headed?? must be a coincidence!!
She also said if it turns out he is not a natural born american.. he'll be inpeached and Biden would be pres with Nancy Peloci would be VP.. now that is a sickening thought .

Okay, you all know where I stand and that I'll be voting for McCain. But, I don't think it does anything to advance our pro McCain/Palin cause to bring up the things like Obama's supposed Muslim religion or his supposed fake birth certificate. Let's try to stick to the issues that will help inform people.

But to clarify, I do think it's quite okay to bring up his proven alliances, his proven voting record, and actual words he has said (well proven speeches and conversations) or written.

  • #570
Jae - I agree and disagree with you. To me a persons "true" birth or citizenship is important because of the Constitution and its requirements to be a president. A Birth certificate is required to go to Kindergarten and college history is required for lots of jobs so since we are "employing" the next President I think they should supply the information. Also if they have nothing to hide then I feel that he should show this also. However, I believe that should go for ALL people trying to run for the President. Now I do agree 100% though that their past voting records should play a major role on voting!! :) Also I think that if McCain has things hiding then he too needs to give the information over. However, I just wish (I am a McCain supporter) that Obama would hand over the items requested to the Judge just to be a better person if he is not hiding things. Also to teach people to not waste goverment money by not handing over information and tying up the courts right now. I do not think the attorney trying to get the documents is doing it for the right reasons, but I would respect Obama more if he would just give the info over to save goverment money... :) I do respect your post though and can somewhat agree with you about it all! :)

Yes, it's true that Obama should do the right thing, and I agree that one must be a U.S. citizen to be the president. I just don't think that Obama's opposition should spread the rumor that Obama isn't a U.S. citizen because it just turns people away from the important messages that we have about why his beliefs and views go against everything we believe this country should be about. Yes, the truth should come out, but I still believe in innocent until proven guilty. If he's breaking a law then he needs to be prosectuted just like anyone else.

Agree with you JAE.... I think we sometimes look too much into "well what about this and what about that" at time instead of the issue. I was only annoyed because I hate people tying up the courts if innocent and wish they would just show why. LOL It cost so much money but still there voting past is very important! :)

 WHAT?? This is one small example of the scare tactics that the Republican party are spreading. Sad. IMO Palin is way scarier than anyone on the other side. She thinks she'd be in charge of the Senate. Whatever.

Obama is going to Hawaii because his grandmother is gravely ill and his visit there last August was also in part to spend time with her. I hope you all pray for him and his family.

One other comment: When people boo at an Obama rally he stops them and says we don't need that. When people boo at a McCain or Palin rally they egg it on and smile. Sad.

Sorry, but I've heard it several times at different rallys on different days. McCain corrected her, that's true, but he didn't have a choice since she was right in front of him speaking directly to him. I have never heard him tell his audience to stop booing and he's never said a word about people shouting kill him or terrorist or other just as inappropriate things. He (and Palin) just smiles.

I've been staying out of the politics lately but this just irked me again. Many here disagreed with the comment, but you didn't have to turn it the other way.

I'm sick and tired of people criticizing the right by saying, "they shouldn't have said, that but oh by the way Sarah is scarier." The democrats have been using that gig ALL election.

Palin has more experience in the Exec. Branch of gov't than Obama but since when is the race against Palin and Obama? It is against McCain and Obama - keep it to that.

...and about the rallies...media spin again...they have criticized it at times too...and believe me, Obama is using the "we don't need that" to get the attention you just gave them and claim he is "morally" better.

I agree Obama is going to Hawaii to see his grandma as he should. But that too is being used as a tactic to gather compassion and relationship from people. It IS being used to appeal to people's hearts.

JAE was right on talking about the issues and ignoring and not spreading false claims. I just wish the left would stop taking the "holier than thou" attitude and knock it off too...

Ever think about what they've been told about addressing radicals with the positions they are in? You don't know the whole crowd situation at those rallies. Obama may have found a good time to address the people to correct it knowing the crowd. McCain may or may not have that opportunity, or even hear what the camera hears and may have been told to ignore not address it.

It is an invalid argument in terms of the election in my viewpoint.

Whoa - can't believe I'm posting on a political thread , but my granny just sent me this (not sure that I can call it a joke though....) and I just couldn't resist :)

I asked my friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day.

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?

She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.

'Wow...what a worthy goal. ' I told her, 'You don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50.

Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.

She thought that over for a few seconds while her Mom glared at me, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?

I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.

Her folks still aren't talking to me.

2 points to ponder:

1. I know Obama's grandma is sick...we all know by now. But don't you think it was interesting that we heard for almost a week that he would be leaving the campaign trail to go visit her, before he actually did? How sick is she really? If she was REALLY sick - wouldn't he have dropped what he was doing to go be with her? Instead...we got a full week of hearing about it, complete with pictures and a retelling of how she raised him, etc...etc...before it actually happened. I was sympathetic at first...but the more I heard about it, the more suspicious I became. It just seems like one more way to get some sympathy support.

2. The AP Poll out this week has McCain and Obama neck and neck in the race. Why was this not reported by any of the MSM? Could it be because it doesn't have their candidate in the lead? Hmmmm...???

By KC Williams who teaches AP Government at Santa Fe High School.

In one of KC's classes, they were discussing the qualifications to be president of the United States. It was pretty simple - the candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age. However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair the requirement was to be a natural born citizen.

In short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.

KC and the class were just taking it in and letting her rant, but everyone's jaw hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating, 'What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?'

Healthcare: It's gonna be a mess no matter who gets in - the healthcare system is broken badly. I am going into debt right now because of the system and my DH has "good" insurance.

At least Obama has a plan to start somewhere.

Iraq: Obama has not said he will "yank" them out. Come on! He said we will leave in a responsible way with a timeline.

Obama's health plan is modeled after Massachusett's Health Plan. It is bankrupting the state, with costs over double the planned cost, with only 1/2 of the uninsured now on the rolls. It's going to cost the state (read TAXPAYERS) an additional one BILLION dollars in taxes on top of what they already were paying.

Poor people qualify for FREE health care, but those that make between 60 - 100K (can you say middle class) can't afford the state mandated premiums.

Hawaii attempted to start a subsidized/ socialized health plan, and after 7 months they had to cease it's operations (something we wouldn't be able to do if it doesn't work on the National level) before it bankrupted their state.

Lastly: how do you feel about Obama's stance on private gun ownership and your rights to protect yourself? With Obama Pelosi and Ried in 'charge' do you REALLY believe they aren't going to attempt a national gun grab?

I dont' usually post about politics but I just finished watching a FOX show called Hannity's America. Very interesting - he listed the top 10 reasons NOT to vote for Obama. Very enlightening and he also made that comment that Obama could not even qualify for the FBI because of his background. Kinda scary that someone like that could be the leader of our country! Lots of prayer warriors will be hard at work the next 9 days praying that McCain will truly be the right person elected.

We are definately living in the last days. The signs are everywhere. No matter what happens just remember that it is going to get worse and worse until Jesus comes back. It has to, it says so in the Bible. Just remember it also says "when you see these things, look up for your redemption draweth nigh".

We also need to remember what our Pastor has shared often with us lately. No matter who wins the election here our precious Lord and Savoir is still the King of Kings and on his throne for eternity and nothing can change that! Amen!!

...and, sometimes God's Will is not our own.
