This is so off topic but I was wondering what you would do if you were in this situation.

I was at my moms in July and I got this bill (dentist) in my maiden name sent to my parents address so I called the office and told them this was not me. I asked them what SS # they had and of course they could not give it to me which makes sense so I gave them my last 4 #'s it was not my # plus the phone # they had was different then my current # or parents # my parents got another bill the other day and now my sister is telling me that I need to get my credit checked. Would you do a credit check with the SS #'s not matching up?
 
You should still probably check your credit report. I have a friend who has the same name as his father except for the middle name and obviously different SS#s, when he went to buy a house, his credit report was scattered with stuff from his father.
 
we had the same thing happen with my husband when we went to get a house. his dads mortgage came up on it.
