I have my first show hosted by a man coming up. I am looking for ideas on what to cook that night.

I do the same thing I'd do for any other show.

Fajitas in the DCB would probably be a huge hit - with salsa and guac. made in the new MFP.

I agree with Becky... :)

My director said at her last Man hosted show, she wore a tool belt and put the tools she was going to use in it! :D I thought that was a cute idea!

Thanks for the great ideas. I bet the fajitas would go over great.

I think a show outside on the grill would be good (if the weather permits).

My husband hosted a man show for his friends during March Madness. I made the sliders using the large bar pan. I set out the seasonings and let the guys put different seasonings on different sections of the pan, then they "taste-tested" the various flavors. I also made the bread bowl spinach artichoke dip for them to munch on as soon as they came in. At the end of the party, my husband made the DCB lava cake himself. The guys really liked using the knives and were interested in the spices, sauces and BBQ tools. The Salad Choppers were also popular. I made sure to also highlight some items that they might like to surprise their wives with.

BBQ pork tenderloin - since my hubby can't get enough of that!

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of dishes are popular for male-hosted shows?

For male-hosted shows, hearty and flavorful dishes tend to be popular. Consider grilling options like burgers or steaks, or hearty pasta dishes. Men often enjoy comfort foods, so recipes like chili, BBQ ribs, or even a gourmet pizza can be great choices.

How can I make cooking more interactive for a male-hosted show?

To make cooking interactive, involve the guests in the preparation process. Set up stations where they can assemble their own dishes, such as tacos or sliders. You can also incorporate cooking challenges or games, like a timed cook-off, to engage everyone and add an element of fun.

What kitchen tools should I showcase at a male-hosted show?

Focus on tools that are practical and versatile. Items like the Chef's Knife, Cast Iron Skillet, or Grill Tools are great options. Highlight gadgets that make cooking easier, such as the Food Chopper or the Quick Slice, as these can appeal to those who may not be as experienced in the kitchen.

Are there any specific dietary preferences I should consider?

Additionally, be mindful of any guests who may be vegetarian or have food allergies, and offer alternative dishes to accommodate them.

How can I encourage guests to try new recipes at a male-hosted show?

Encourage guests to try new recipes by offering samples of unique dishes during the show. Provide small tastings of adventurous recipes, like spicy shrimp tacos or gourmet mac and cheese. You can also share tips on how easy it is to recreate these dishes at home, making them more appealing to try.
