One of the fairs that I'm doing next month is being organized by a good friend of mine so I get first dips on "the good spot"... Problem is, I'm not so sure what the good spot is... Would it be the first one that people hit when they walk in, or somewhere in the middle, or next to the bake sale, or what?! I just can't decide, I've only done one other and it was pretty small, I was right by the door/pay area, and I did pretty good I thought... they also had to pass by me on their way out, but not sure how it'll be set up at this one... Any thoughts and wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

I would say towards the front as they walk in. They will be fresh and more willing to stop to chat. If you were at the end, or around a bunch of food, you may get a lot of traffic but everyone will be hungry or tired! JMO, though. :)

I wouldn't want to be right next to the food (although towards that general direction would be OK), because people will ignore you to get to that booth.

towards the beginning is good. I tend to be there when I organize them, but partially so I see everyone easily. I find with PC, they find me though. I LOVE this company.

Hi there! As a fellow pampered chef consultant, I completely understand your dilemma. The "good spot" at a fair can make a big difference in sales. In my experience, the best spot is usually near the entrance or in a high traffic area. This way, people will see your booth as soon as they walk in and you'll have a better chance of catching their attention. However, it also depends on the layout of the fair and where other vendors are located. If there is a specific area that tends to get more foot traffic, that could also be a good spot for you. Ultimately, it's important to be visible and accessible to potential customers. I hope this helps and good luck at the fair!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best booth position at a fair?

The best booth position at a fair is typically near the entrance or in high-traffic areas where attendees naturally congregate. This visibility increases foot traffic and the likelihood of engaging potential customers.

Should I choose a corner booth or a middle booth?

A corner booth is often considered more advantageous because it provides visibility from two aisles, allowing for greater exposure. However, middle booths can also be effective if they are located in a busy area with good foot traffic.

How important is the booth's proximity to competitors?

The proximity to competitors can have both positive and negative effects. Being near complementary vendors can attract customers who are interested in similar products, while being too close to direct competitors might split your audience. Consider the overall layout and traffic flow.

What factors should I consider when selecting a booth position?

When selecting a booth position, consider factors such as foot traffic, visibility, proximity to entrances and exits, and the layout of the fair. Additionally, think about the demographics of the attendees and how they align with your target market.

How can I make the most of my booth position?

Regardless of your booth position, you can maximize its potential by creating an inviting display, engaging with passersby, offering samples or demonstrations, and using signage effectively. A well-staffed and appealing booth can draw in more visitors, regardless of location.
