I was wondering what you all do for bridal shower recipes. What have you made that is a real hit? My bride is asking for my ideas and this is my first shower. I really want to "wow" her because 90% of the attendees are my close friends and family! A little bit of pressure! :) Any ideas/advice???

Hi ChefColbyJ,
I have a Bridal Shower this next weekend and since they will have a ton of other food there I am keeping it simple, because it is all about the Bride.
So I am making the Apple Berry Salsa and Cinnamon Chips, that way it is quick and the Bride can help me out by using some of the Products on her wish list in the recipe.
Besides it is really very good.

I did a shower this past week and made the Chipotle Chili Cornbread Bake to show off the DCB. No demo, just displayed products the bride had on her wish list. Sold over $1000, including 2 Deep Covered Bakers. I gave the bride one of each of my game prizes and a SB cookbook that everyone signed. Had a drawing for another SB. Kept it simple, this is all about the bride.

I usually make the chicken clubhouse squares and a layered dessert or layered salad in the trifle bowl. I make the food before the shower, then demo the products used to make the dishes. This takes a lot of pressure off at the last minute. I have the guests get their food, start eating, then about half way through I start my demos. I keep it fairly short, and also demo some products that she has on her wish list. Good luck! I have done several showers and this works the best for me! :)

I almost always demo a trifle...actually, I have the bride demo the trifle. I stand next to her and guide her, but the bride does the "work". This goes over really well and helps keep the focus on the bride.

I try to limit my recipes to trifles for wedding showers. The Lime-Berry Mousse Trifle and Double Chocolate Mocha Trifle have been huge hits! LBMT is from S/S 2007 and DCMT is on this site in a file. The LBMT is a beautiful trifle when done and my brides have really enjoyed making it. The DCMT is for chocolate lovers!
