I've received this in e-mails several times, but I thought it was appropriate for today. :)

BEFORE I WAS A MOM
(Author Unknown)

Before I was a Mom
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom,
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words of lullabies.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on
Pooped on
Spit on
Chewed on
Peed on
Or pinched by tiny fingers

Before I was a Mom
I had complete control of:
My thoughts
My body
And my mind.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child
So that doctors could do tests
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
When I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
Could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
Could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay
I had never known the warmth
The joy
The love
The heartache
The wonder
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom

1. What inspired you to write "The Journey of Motherhood: A Reflection on Love, Joy, and Sacrifice"?

As a mother myself, I have always been fascinated by the unique and complex journey that is motherhood. I wanted to share my own experiences and insights, as well as those of other mothers, to provide a source of inspiration and comfort for other women going through this beautiful, yet challenging, journey.

2. How is this book different from other books on motherhood?

This book is not a how-to guide or a manual on motherhood. Instead, it is a collection of personal stories and reflections from real mothers, highlighting the joys, struggles, and sacrifices that come with being a mother. It is a celebration of the ups and downs of this journey and a reminder that every experience is valid and valuable.

3. Who is this book intended for?

This book is intended for any woman who is a mother, or hopes to be one someday. It is also a great read for anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the role of motherhood in our society. Whether you are a new mom, a seasoned veteran, or simply curious about motherhood, this book is for you.

4. What message do you hope readers will take away from this book?

Above all, I hope this book serves as a reminder that motherhood is a journey filled with love, joy, and sacrifice. It is not always easy, but it is always worth it. I want readers to feel inspired, supported, and empowered after reading these stories and reflections.

5. How can readers purchase "The Journey of Motherhood: A Reflection on Love, Joy, and Sacrifice"?

You can purchase the book on our Pampered Chef website or through any major online book retailer. It is available in both paperback and e-book formats. Keep an eye out for special promotions and discounts on our website as well!
