i have a wedding coming up too that's why i started. too funny. i love the fudgesicles too. lol.lisaterwilliger said:I am actually on day 4! haha! I have always done this diet when I have an important event coming up like a wedding (bridesmaid next Saturday) or have to wear a certain outfit for something. I really like the eggs part cuz I LOVE eggs! I also love the sugar free fudgesicles part! I've always thought that the 1st 2 days are the hardest but once you get past that its pretty smooth sailing. I eat a lot of veggies and turkey bacon, turkey dogs, and discovered turkey sausage..its turkey so it works right? I also really like the ricotta cheese dessert option..in fact I just ate the lemon one! Good luck w/ the rest of phase 1! Once next Saturday is over I'm probably done w/ the SB diet until May when I'm in another wedding!![]()

I LOVE THIS WEBSITE!pcmissyfee said:DH & I did South Beach for a couple of months and I lost 22 lbs, he lost 30.When we were doing it, I googled for SB Phase I recipes and found this one  . http://www.recipezaar.com/128320 I was addicted to it for weeks, but instead of waffles I made pancakes.
I usually ate the whole batch myself, but DS decided he liked them too, so I had to share (or make a double batch):blushing:. We ate them with sugar free syrup or sugar free jam. I also used Korintje cinnamon in them too.
You sound like me and not minding the scrambled eggs every day and my nuts and cheese for snacks. And I LOVED the ricotta cheese dessert, it reminded me of cheese cake!TwinGirlsMom said:I do South Beach on and off throughout the year as a cleanse and I love it!
The first time I did it after I had my twins I lost 8 lbs in the first WEEK and by the end of 2 months I had lost 20 lbs.
I ate 2 hard-boiled eggs for breakfast with salt & pepper; lunch consisted of a salad with fat-free raspberry vinagraitte topped with imitation krab. I seem to be a creature of habit, I noticed, so it was easy for me to fall into a routine with breakfast and lunch. Don't forget your 2 snacks that will keep your metabolism up! I kept nuts and string cheese on hand as my snacks in between b/l and l/d. Good luck!

pcmissyfee said:I really like the whole grain pasta, which you can have if you are doing phase 2 or phase 3. My youngest likes the whole grain pasta and if you use sauce (but look for a low sugar one) you cannot tell. My oldest doesn't like the whole grain, but he also doesn't like sauce on his, only butter and parm cheese.
The South Beach Diet Phase 1 is a two-week introductory phase designed to kickstart weight loss by eliminating sugar and refined carbohydrates from your diet. During this phase, you focus on eating lean proteins, healthy fats, and non-starchy vegetables. This helps stabilize blood sugar levels and reduces cravings, making it easier to transition to healthier eating habits.
Many individuals have reported significant weight loss during Phase 1, often losing between 8 to 13 pounds in just two weeks. Success stories often highlight increased energy levels, improved mood, and a newfound appreciation for healthy foods. Participants frequently mention how the initial weight loss motivated them to continue with the diet and adopt healthier lifestyle choices.
To maximize success during Phase 1, consider meal prepping to avoid reaching for unhealthy snacks. Incorporate a variety of allowed foods to keep meals interesting, and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Additionally, tracking your food intake and progress can help maintain motivation and accountability throughout the phase.
Common challenges during Phase 1 include cravings for sugar and carbs, as well as social situations that involve food. To overcome these, it's helpful to have healthy snacks on hand, such as nuts or vegetables, and to communicate your dietary goals to friends and family. Finding alternative activities that don't revolve around food can also help manage social pressures.
To maintain success after Phase 1, it's important to gradually reintroduce healthy carbohydrates while continuing to focus on portion control and balanced meals. Staying active and incorporating regular exercise into your routine can also help maintain weight loss. Keeping a food journal and setting new goals can further support long-term success on the South Beach Diet.
