my colonder(sp?) has a stain on it I have tried soft scrub and it didn't work. Any other suggestions I usually take this to my shows and can't since it is stained.Thank in advance for any suggestions.

I use the Chlorox bleach pen on almost everything. I would try that. You might have to let it sit on there for a little bit before rinsing it off. Hope that will work. Let us know how it turns out.

I don't have the colander set but you might want to try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I use this on a lot of surfaces around the house and it seems to make things white again. Let us know what happens.

i dont know how well it will work, but maybe try the pampered chef sink fizz...it has helped with some of my stuff...you just put water in the sink w/ your dish and stick the fizz in there

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to remove stains from a colander?

To remove stains from a colander, you can create a paste using baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stained areas, let it sit for about 15-20 minutes, then scrub gently with a soft sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Can I use vinegar to clean stains from my colander?

Yes, vinegar is an effective natural cleaner. Soak the colander in a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water for about 30 minutes. After soaking, scrub the stained areas with a soft brush or sponge, then rinse well with warm water.

Are there any commercial cleaners that work well on colander stains?

Yes, there are several commercial cleaners designed for kitchenware that can effectively remove stains. Look for non-abrasive cleaners specifically labeled for stainless steel or plastic surfaces. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for best results.

How can I prevent future stains on my colander?

To prevent future stains, rinse your colander immediately after use, especially after draining foods like tomatoes or berries that can leave behind pigments. Regularly cleaning it with mild soap and warm water can also help maintain its appearance.

Is it safe to use bleach on my colander to remove stains?

While bleach can be effective for disinfecting, it is not recommended for cleaning kitchen items like colanders, especially if they are made of plastic. Bleach can cause discoloration and may leave harmful residues. Stick to milder cleaning solutions for safety.
