I have an opportunity to do a scrapbook convention for $650 --- has anyone done one? Is it a good match for our business? I will be the only PC there...

It seems like the same type of demographic would attend this convention... however, that is a very steep price. Can you split the cost with another consultant or two or three?

I thought about asking my sister-in-law, who is also a consultant (recruited me)

I thought it still might be a little much though...

How long is the convention? If it is a multi day one, the price might not be too much. If it is just one day, walk away! Or, ask them if they would give you a first time vendor fee to make sure you will be able to make back your money. So, if you get 10 bookings, 3 recruits and $400 in sales, it would be worth your while.....HTH

I helped at a scrapbook crop last year...and hated it! Of course I was there on the second day, but only 2 people came by the booth while I was there! I think they really weren't there to buy stuff, or book shows, they were there to do their scrapbooking. IMO I wouldn't do it for that price, I would rather do booths at fairs etc....just my opinion though!

I agree with Lacy - I've gone to scrapbook conventions (being a big scrapbooker!) and people go crazy over new products because that's what they came for. Most scrapbooking items aren't very expensive either and they might not be able to justify spending their money elsewhere. Just my 2 cents though.

I haven't gone to a scrapbook convention but I am doing a party exchange with a lady that I go to chruchwith that sells Clost to the Heart scrapbook stuff..... I will let you know how it turns out for me...

This is just my opinion, as a new new consultant. I think that if I were to go to a scrapbook convention I wouldn't really be in the market for kitchen products while I was there. Just like if I went to a Pampered Chef convention I wouldn't be interested in scrapbook supplies. It may very well be the same demographic, but if they aren't in the market while they are there, I don't think it would pan out very well. I could be totally wrong though. :) Take my opinion for what it's worth, just the opinion of one girl on the 'net!
