So I noticed that I have some rust on my SA squares. They are from my dishwasher which is currently rusting through:eek: Any idea on how to get the rust off? We plan on getting a new dishwasher after our trip in July

Try Barkeeper's Friend!
That also helps with the black scratch marks that sometimes get on SA pieces!

Correl cleaner works well, too. I also might give Soft Scrub a try.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Rusty SA Squares?

Rusty SA Squares are specific components or parts used in certain dishwasher models that can develop rust over time, affecting their performance and longevity.

How do I identify rust on my SA Squares?

You can identify rust on your SA Squares by looking for reddish-brown stains or flaking on the metal surfaces. If the squares feel rough or have a powdery texture, it may indicate rust formation.

What are the best methods to remove rust from SA Squares?

Common methods to remove rust include using a mixture of vinegar and baking soda, applying a rust remover product, or using sandpaper or a wire brush to scrub the rust away. Always ensure to clean and dry the area thoroughly after rust removal.

Is it safe to use my dishwasher with rusty SA Squares?

It is not recommended to use your dishwasher with rusty SA Squares, as this can lead to further damage to the appliance and potentially contaminate your dishes. It's best to address the rust issue before continuing to use the dishwasher.

When should I consider replacing my SA Squares?

You should consider replacing your SA Squares if the rust is extensive, if they are structurally compromised, or if rust removal does not restore them to a usable condition. Regular maintenance can help prolong their life, but replacement may be necessary for safety and efficiency.
