So last night was our team meeting and I brought 7 girls with me. My director does the meetings but it's about 45 minutes from me. Most of my girls are traveling anywheres from 20 minutes to an hour just to get to me...then another 45 minutes to get to my directors meetings...that's almost 2 hours for some ONE WAY! They're beneficial...but I'm starting to think I need to have my own meetings. Is it crazy to think this?? Can I really do that? I have 6 girls on my team and like 8 coming in!! I've really been rockin lately on the recruiting :D THANKS TO CONFERENCE!! he he!

So what's involved to planning a meeting? How do your meetings go? Anything you can help me with or give me ideas for would be GREAT!! THANKS!

Absolutely you can hold your own meetings. I will be starting mine in October, after I see what is going on with the kid's school schedules.

What are you applying from conference that you are doing to get your recruiting numbers that high? Watch out, you will be giving a speech at NEXT YEARS conference if you keep this up! Great job!

Talk to your director about your plan. I'm sure she can help you with planning meetings.

Ask your director to send you the monthly meeting planner. That is a great way to start and then you can mimmick or create your own form of recognition. Go for it!

What is a monthly meeting planner? You mean what she does...or is this something the company does.

I think that it is included in the Directors version of the CN that is sent to them each month.

Congrats Heather on your recruiting success! I did not take that workshop but I do ask everyone and I'm still batting strikes. You obviously have the right words down. KUDOS!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the key elements to include in a team meeting agenda?

When planning a team meeting, it's essential to include key elements such as a clear purpose, specific topics to discuss, time allocations for each item, and opportunities for team members to share updates or ask questions. Additionally, consider including a motivational segment or recognition of team achievements to boost morale.

How can I keep the meeting engaging for my team?

To keep your meeting engaging, incorporate interactive elements such as group discussions, brainstorming sessions, or breakout groups. Use visual aids like slides or handouts to enhance understanding, and encourage participation by asking open-ended questions. Consider incorporating fun icebreakers or team-building activities to create a positive atmosphere.

What is the best way to manage time during a team meeting?

To manage time effectively, set a strict agenda with time limits for each topic and stick to it. Use a timer to keep track of time, and appoint a timekeeper if necessary. If discussions go off-topic, gently steer the conversation back to the agenda. Consider scheduling follow-up meetings for topics that require more in-depth discussion.

How often should I hold team meetings?

The frequency of team meetings can vary based on your team's needs and goals. Generally, holding meetings bi-weekly or monthly is effective for maintaining communication without overwhelming team members. However, if your team is working on a specific project or facing challenges, more frequent meetings may be necessary to ensure alignment and support.

What tools can I use to facilitate a virtual team meeting?

For virtual team meetings, consider using platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet for video conferencing. Utilize collaborative tools such as Google Docs or Trello for sharing agendas and notes in real-time. Additionally, tools like Poll Everywhere or Mentimeter can help gather feedback and keep participants engaged during the meeting.
