I have done it in the past with no harm, but this time when I was melting the chocolate chips to do the 2-step fudge and left my small scraper in there I melted the handle:eek: :(   (Not sure which one better fits, well I guess all of them, just one at a time, lol.) That sucks, I didn't know the microwave would get it that hot at 30 seconds at a time.

Ouch. I wonder if that is covered by warranty.

That is really wierd, I leave mine in the dish and micro it all the time.

Aren't they suppose to be heat safe up to like 400/450 or something? I forget. I would not think it should have melted.

On Pg. 29 of our catalog, it says that the Heads of the Scrapers are safe up to 650 degrees. However, it does not say what temps the handles are safe to, yet you would think that since they are fused together, the stated temp would apply to the complete unit. Let us know what HO says, if you talk with someone. I would expect that you can expect a replacement if you have purchased it in the last three years. Give it a try. Don't throw it away without a try.
