ok no problem then, all you need to do is setup fun mini games for practice, you don't even need to worry about any tactics or skill drills, just get them touches on the ball and excited about playing. I would lookup soccer rules and formations just so your familair with the game atmosphere. That's about it :)

Thanks so much for the info Greg I really appreciate it. Heather I am so sure you are right we just got done with T-Ball and it was such a hoot watching his 1st game.

We are a big soccer family and I would say since they are 5 consider yourself lucky you'll have something to do whilke they run around in circles! ;)

My youngest is starting in September and it will be the longest 8 weeks of the season :) and my oldest is in the process of try outs for the varsity team at school (yeah.... age gap???)

There are many websites you can check out too for different games that will keep them interested and touching the ball. Just google "soccer drills" and you should get some.

Good luck and have fun!

My DH started coaching when my oldest DD was 5, she is now 12. When she hit 10 he bailed on the girls and started with my DS who was 5 at the time. Some of our best kid stories come from soccer games! Like the time a hot air balloon went over the field and the ball just sat in the middle of the field while all 20 kids stared at the sky!BTW he knew NOTHING about soccer, he was a hockey player!!
