Sports Illustrated has announced that they are putting Brett Favre on the cover of a special commemorative edition that will be available on Monday. There will be an 84 page biography of his career.

850,000 copies will be available on newsstands nationwide.

I predict that 850,000 copies will not be enough and there will be at least three printings of this issue.

Thanks KG; I'll let my dh know! He has the other 2 that Brett was on this year, so we must complete the set;) I agree, that won't be enough copies. If you subscribe, will you get that one?

Here's one from Thanksgiving - I think this was actually a Lions leg.http://images.620wtmj.com/images/620wtmj_030408favre01js.JPG

Did you watch his press release yesterday? Poor guy in tears....if he's that sad he shouldn't retire, LOL! I felt bad for him; obviously it was a tough decision.

I didn't watch, but I did listen. The one that got me was Bill Michaels, from WTMJ Radio, who asked this big, long question of Brett that came down to, "Could anyone in the Packers organization have convinced you to stay?" Michaels took about 45 seconds to ask the question, with all the little nuances to it. And Brett said..."No."

One of the women reporters made Deanna Favre come to the podium to answer a question about her feelings and the family's feelings. Deanna did not like that very much, and even Brett said, "I promised her she wouldn't have to talk."I wish the press would grill the presidential candidates the way the sports reporters grilled Brett yesterday.

People are starting to confuse the old thread about the December Brett Facre edition of SI with the one coming out on Monday.

I posted on the other Brett Favre thread that I would like the SI with him on it too. On Tuesday when Mike (coach) & Ted (General Manager) announced that he was retiring I cried so much. Brett to me is the last honest real person left in the NFL It's not about money awards records it's just goin out playin the game and have FUN while doing it! I paid $800 to go see Packers play Bears in Chicago on Dec 5th 2005 I was on the 45 yard line 13 rows up right behind the Packer bench. Now that he's retired I know I spent every peny of that trip well! And then Thursday when Brett did his press confrence I cried like I was at his funeral, it was a bad day for me! I WILL BE AT CANTON OHIO IN 7 YEARS! (hall of fame)

If anyone out there is able to pick up a copy of the new SI when it comes out, I would be willing to pay for it and shipping for you to send it to me. I'm sure they will be impossible to get up here unless you're in line before they hit the shelves.

I have to pick up 6 - mine, son at college and 4 sons in Wisconsin.

Let me know if you want me to get yours too and I'll get as many as they let me - first come first serve. I won't buy them unless I know I have takers before I shop so be sure to email me your request before Monday.

Dh & I only watched the press conference online up until they started asking questions. Dh turned it off then; he said he didn't want to watch them ask dumb questions & make him cry more. I hope he can enjoy time with all his girls now, even though we'll miss seeing him every Sunday.

I know what you mean Stephanie; we won tickets on ebay 4 years ago & made the drive to Green Bay. It was so awesome & I'm so glad we got to do it. Almost wish we'd have ventured to Chiefs-land in Nov to see him play agian. Almost!

Tickets will be a lot easier to come by now.

I took my DH (for his 30th bday) to see the game on Dec. 16th in St. Louis. It was so awesome. Brett set the record for all-time passing yardage at that game. Glad to see him make the choice to retire while he's still able to enjoy life.

So the Special Edition was supposed to be out YESTERDAY. No one here got any.

Is there any more word on them?? ...KG???

Some places around here sold out of them on Sunday, even though they weren't supposed to be out until Monday. Border's had a strict 5-issues-per-person rule. I don't know why someone would want to hoard more than a couple of copies, other than to speculate that they'll be worth a lot of money on ebay.Unless the issue is autographed by the Brettster himself, I don't see these things every being worth more than a few dollars over the newsstand price. It's like the people who hoarded bi-centenial quarters. Today, they're pretty much worth 25¢ apiece.

Well, the bookstores around here haven't even gotten any at all!

I need to get 6 just for us and my 5 adult sons - 4 of whom are in WI! Looks like they'll be out of luck. Oh, well, it was a good idea...

I have 5 for you - I lost count when I got to the store. I'll try to pick up a sixth one today.

Let me know how to get them to the 4 guys in Wisconsin, or if you like, I can just send them all to you.
