I am so excited to have my new DCB and I bought it so I could cook meals in the microwave BUT my Microwave is Too Small! It is a newer microwave. I know I can cook in the oven but I was so looking forward to using it for fast micro meals.:(

Microwaves are cheap! Get a new one!

True and I may just do that but i was concerned about running into this same issue doing a cooking party with someone with a small microwave...I'd have to use the benefits of cooking great meals in it using the oven. Thanks for the response.

Just always ask your hosts to measure their microwave. It needs to measure
13" wide X 13" deep X 7.5" high.

What I have found is that if someone has an over-the-stove built-in microwave, then it's always big enough. If it sits on the counter, then they need to measure.

Thank you so much. So true, I had an over the stove one and moved and left it behind and now have a counter top microwave. I will keep the measurements you provided for reference. Again Thank You!:o

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the DCB and how can I maximize my experience with it?

The DCB, or Deep Covered Baker, is a versatile stoneware product from Pampered Chef designed for microwave and oven cooking. To maximize your experience, familiarize yourself with its cooking times and techniques, use it for a variety of recipes, and experiment with different ingredients to find what works best for you.

What should I do if my microwave is too small for the DCB?

If your microwave is too small to accommodate the DCB, consider alternative cooking methods such as using a conventional oven or a toaster oven. You can also look for smaller stoneware options from Pampered Chef that fit your microwave while still allowing you to enjoy similar cooking benefits.

Are there any tips for cooking in the DCB if I have a smaller microwave?

Yes! If you have a smaller microwave, try cooking in smaller batches or using the DCB for side dishes instead of main courses. You can also cover the DCB with a microwave-safe lid or wrap to help retain moisture and heat, ensuring even cooking even in a smaller space.

Can I still use the DCB for baking if my microwave is limited in size?

Absolutely! While the DCB is designed for microwave use, it can also be used in a conventional oven. If your microwave is too small, simply bake your dishes in the oven instead. This allows you to take full advantage of the DCB's capabilities without being restricted by microwave size.

What are some common recipes I can try in the DCB to enhance my cooking experience?

Some popular recipes for the DCB include casseroles, pasta dishes, and even desserts like brownies or cobblers. You can also experiment with one-pot meals, soups, and stews. The key is to adjust cooking times based on the size of your dish and the method used, whether in the microwave or oven.
