For those that have made this dip do you use fresh brocolli or frozen? Do you serve with crackers or chips? TIA

Ive made it with frozen broccoli (make sure you use a paper towel to drain moisture off) and I served it with ritz crackers. YUM!! (I am eating better these days, so this is really making me salivate!)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it better to use fresh or frozen broccoli for making broccoli dip?

Both fresh and frozen broccoli can be used to make broccoli dip, but fresh broccoli tends to have a brighter flavor and better texture. Frozen broccoli is convenient and often pre-blanched, making it easier to prepare, but it may have a softer texture once thawed. Ultimately, the choice depends on your preference and availability.

How do I prepare fresh broccoli for the dip?

To prepare fresh broccoli for your dip, start by washing it thoroughly. Cut the broccoli into small florets and steam or blanch them until they are tender but still bright green. Allow the broccoli to cool before mixing it into your dip to maintain its vibrant color and flavor.

Can I use frozen broccoli directly in the dip without cooking it?

While you can use frozen broccoli directly, it's best to thaw and drain it first to remove excess moisture. Cooking it briefly, either by steaming or microwaving, can enhance the flavor and texture, making it a better addition to your dip.

What are the best chips or crackers to serve with broccoli dip?

For serving with broccoli dip, sturdy chips like tortilla chips or pita chips work well, as they can hold up to the dip's texture. If you prefer crackers, choose ones that are robust, such as whole grain or sourdough crackers, to complement the flavors without breaking easily.

Can I make broccoli dip ahead of time?

Yes, broccoli dip can be made ahead of time! Prepare the dip and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Just give it a good stir before serving, and consider adding a little fresh seasoning to brighten the flavors if needed.
