ChefPaulaB said:I haven't tried this yet, but I found a recipe that is to made in a crock pot and I tried that but it dried out a little too much cooking all night long in the crock pot, so I am planning on making it sometime in the DCB in the microwave...
Layer:
thawed frozen Hashbrowns
breakfast meat (I used ham and it was too dry, would recommend sausage or bacon, precook)
onions or peppers or mushrooms (to taste)
shredded cheese
and then pour beaten eggs over top
Sorry there aren't any amounts or times for microwaving, like I said, haven't actually tried it in the micro, the original recipe called for a dozen eggs and to cook on low all night long in the crock pot. I was also thinking that it might be good if you went a little mexican with it. Add Chorizo with the breakfast sausage and maybe add some salsa and mexican blend shredded cheese. Maybe crumble some crushed tortilla chips on top? And maybe serve with sour cream and salsa! Good luck!

Saturday Gourmet said:Unfortunately, I haven't been home enough lately to cook much of anything. I start back to work next week and then the students come the next, so my life will fall into a routine so I can plan better. I'm thinking I'm going to try this recipe for supper. We love eating breakfast for supper and this recipe looks like a good one.
I'll let you know when I get a chance to taste-test it.

The DCB, or Deep Covered Baker, is a versatile stoneware piece from Pampered Chef that can be used in the oven, microwave, and even on the grill. It's perfect for making a variety of dishes, including breakfast recipes. You can use it to bake, steam, or even slow-cook your breakfast items, making it ideal for special occasions.
One popular DCB breakfast recipe is the "Breakfast Casserole." You can layer ingredients like eggs, cheese, diced vegetables, and your choice of meat in the DCB. Bake it in the oven for about 30-40 minutes, and you'll have a delicious, hearty breakfast that can serve a crowd!
Preparation time for a DCB breakfast recipe can vary, but most recipes typically take about 15-20 minutes to prep. Cooking time usually ranges from 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the specific recipe and the ingredients used. Overall, you can expect to have a delicious breakfast ready in about an hour.
Yes! Many DCB breakfast recipes can be prepared ahead of time. You can assemble the casserole the night before, cover it, and refrigerate it. In the morning, simply pop it in the oven or microwave to cook. This is especially convenient for special occasions when you want to minimize morning prep time.
Absolutely! You can customize DCB breakfast recipes by adding your favorite ingredients. Consider incorporating seasonal vegetables, different types of cheese, or various meats like sausage or bacon. You can also adjust the seasonings to suit your taste. This flexibility allows you to create a unique dish that fits the occasion perfectly!
