I'm just surprised, it seems like everyone I run into is trying really hard to get there, why would they turn it down once they qualify?

Oh I ABSOLUTELY accepted. I have been told it's MUCH harder to GET directorship than to maintain it.
I am SO EXCITED. I only have 5, so now it's time to get 5 more! ...and then 5 more, and then 5 more...

I actually turned it down several years ago. I ended up having a bunch of duds and they all quit anyways. I can't get them to come to the meetings or return phone calls and got tired of trying to babysit them. I currently have 6 recruits now and am expecting the call again when one more girl qualifies.

I have some real winners this time, I think.... but, I don't feel I'm consistent enough at recruiting to take the position. I'm just afraid to go inactive and lose all my girls/guy... one of which is my sister

Anyone have any words of wisdom or encouragement? I definitely want to jump on the recruiting special going on now, though!!!!!

You get a grace period of 3 months after promoting, during which you cannot go into relinquishment. Use those 3 months to keep up the recruiting momentum. If you recruit 1 new person each of those months, then you'll have some buffer. And don't forget that if your team sees you recruiting, they'll start doing it, too. And those people count toward the 5 that you need to maintain directorship.

I didn't mean myself going inactive, but rather my recruits and then putting me in reliquishment.

I was wondering about that. My sister, who is on my team, has two recruits, but they are not always dependable. I really want to pray about it before I make a decision. Thanks for the advice and encouragement.
