I just got an email from my Host for this Saturday's party. She informed me that she needs to cancel and possibly do a Catalog show. She is losing her job and hasn't been at work for 2 weeks so that is why she hasn't been able to collect any orders from work :(. I really would like to talk to her about the business but I don't know how I should put it. I want to be sensitive because she is losing her job. How would you respond to the email?

I would not respond by e-mail, but give her a phone call. Offer sympathy in her difficult transition, ask after her prospects (ie she might have something already lined up), and find a way to offer the business.

I agree with Dotty that a phone call would be nice. You could ask something about the catalog show and say that you understand, etc., and perhaps mention someone else who had lost their job and found it was the perfect opportunity to work for themselves around the hours of their family.

call and and simply say "I am so sorry to hear about your job situation, have you ever thought about something like Pampered Chef"

phone call is good or if you really know her well....bring over some goodies or a casserole and do a face to face...it's good that you are sensitive to her feelings but i definitely would offer the business!

In addition to the above suggestions, if you still feel awkward in someway, just remember *and maybe even say to her* that you wouldn't be doing YOUR job if you didn't at least let her know of the opportunity that PC has, and offer to give her a "Think about it" packet (which is just the recruiting material & DVD, etc).

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my host losing her job because of her Pampered Chef business?

No, hosting Pampered Chef parties is typically a side business and does not affect a person's primary employment. Many hosts enjoy the flexibility of managing both their job and their Pampered Chef responsibilities.

How should I respond if my host is worried about losing her job?

Reassure your host that her Pampered Chef business is a flexible opportunity that can complement her current job. Encourage her to focus on her strengths and the benefits of being a Pampered Chef host, such as earning extra income and building a supportive community.

What if my host feels overwhelmed by her Pampered Chef commitments?

It's important to listen to her concerns and offer support. Suggest that she take a step back and prioritize her commitments. Remind her that she can adjust her hosting schedule to fit her lifestyle and that it's okay to take a break if needed.

Should I encourage my host to prioritize her job over Pampered Chef?
