I've seen many great ideas on this site regarding a Mystery Hostess show. I plan on having one at my home for my first show ever. I've heard some say that they hand out raffle tickets for such things as bringing in outside orders, booking shows, bringing friends. I LOVE this idea and plan on implenting it. My questions are:

What do you raffle for besides hostess gifts? I don't want to give one person everything. I want to break it down as much as possible and maybe save something for myself. What do you think? what else would you give tickets out for?

And lastly, would you just send out a postcard invite and put a sticker saying something simple like "bring outside orders, friends or book a party and better your chances at receiving free and/or discounted products of your choice!" Or would you do a flyer?

What are your suggestions?

Thanks!

I do a flyer. You could break up the hostess rewards. Free product, 1/2 price item, Discount (I usually offer the discount on one item to everyone as a consolation prize). You could have drawings throughout the open house and give away free s/h or things that you don't need/want anymore. It's whatever you want. There are some great fliers on here so many start there.

Hey Dena!

If you "give" shipping and handling as a door prize (that's what I do at my shows), yes, you will eat the cost. It's $4-something with the tax on it. But I've found that giving s/h away will often cause the winner to place an order if they were on the fence about getting anything.

Generally at a mystery host show, you'll be giving away the host benefits. Great for your guests - not so great for you if you want to use those benes to increase your own stuff. If you want to split the difference and give away SOME of the host benefits, you can do that. Like draw a name for the half-price choices.
