I am going to a swiss festival, and would like to decorate my trifle bowl in the 'switzerland' theme. Any ideas creative cheffers?
 
the swiss flag is red/white, so maybe layers of pound cake, cool whip & cherry pie topping?

That sounds yummy! I just realized I should have been more clear in my earlier post. I need a trifle to be at set on a talbe at a 2 day fair, so no food could be used.
 
oh, sorry! ummmm, do you have any small swiss flags? you could fill the trifle bowl with red & white smooth rocks/stones from joann's or michaels and stick some swiss flags in them. or a red candle with white stones. or a red/white flower bouquet. or red & white ornaments (to promote christmas also).
 
Start shopping in the christmas aisles...look for a swiss looking cottage and create a little village inside....Use shredded styrofoam as snow. Make it look like a village in a snowglobe.
