...for having a PWS and working it!! I have had over $350 in sales from my PWS this month STRICTLY from strangers or semi-strangers (meaning NOT associated with shows at all)

I have my web address on my business cards and hand them out EVERYWHERE I GO. I have it printed on the back of my catalogs and I leave old catalogs everywhere.

I am now trying to find a good (and non-intrusive way) to follow up with these orders. I am considering mailing a postcard thanking them for their order, letting them know how to contact me if they have any questions about their new stuff, and offering them 10% off their next purchase through me - what do you think?

I think that it is an awesome idea. My website has already paid for itself, but I would absolutely love to have an extra $350 on my website!

I second that!! That is so awesome!! I like the postcard idea and mailing isn't intrusive in my opinion, I think they would be wowed to get a thank you.

I also agree:) Giving them that personal connection will make the customer feel appreciated, and more likely to visit your site again! Good for you:)

Congratulations Carolyn! My hubby and I went to Universal Islands of Adventure yesterday and I got home and an e-mail notified me that I received an order!:D I went and checked it out and it was for 4 corn cob nobs! A total of $13!:) :p I have no idea who this person is but its $13 more in orders than I had before!!!:D

I agree about the postcard. Maybe put something on there about e-mailing you to receive specials if you do a newsletter and you can have a few more contacts!

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I optimize my Personal Website (PWS) for better sales?

To optimize your PWS, ensure that it is visually appealing and easy to navigate. Use high-quality images and clear descriptions of your products. Regularly update your site with new recipes, tips, and promotions to keep customers engaged. Additionally, consider using SEO strategies to improve your website's visibility in search engines.

What strategies can I use to drive traffic to my PWS?

Promote your PWS through social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Share engaging content, such as cooking tips, recipes, and product demonstrations. You can also utilize email marketing by sending newsletters with links to your PWS. Collaborating with influencers or hosting virtual cooking classes can also help attract more visitors.

How often should I follow up with customers after they visit my PWS?

It’s best to follow up within 24-48 hours after a customer visits your PWS. If they made a purchase, send a thank-you email and ask for feedback. For those who didn’t purchase, a gentle reminder or a special offer can encourage them to return. Regular follow-ups, such as monthly newsletters, can keep your brand top-of-mind.

What tools can I use to track customer interactions on my PWS?

Utilize analytics tools provided by your PWS platform to monitor visitor behavior, such as page views and product clicks. Google Analytics can also be integrated to gain deeper insights into traffic sources and customer demographics. Additionally, consider using customer relationship management (CRM) software to keep track of customer interactions and follow-ups.

How can I create effective follow-up messages that convert?

Craft personalized follow-up messages that address the customer's specific interests or previous interactions. Use a friendly tone and include a call-to-action, such as a special discount or an invitation to a virtual event. Highlight the benefits of the products they viewed or purchased, and encourage them to reach out with any questions.
