Consultants who are awaiting their turkey gift certificates or are interested in the shipping timelines may find this discussion relevant.

I submitted a show on 11/8 and two more on 11/15, still have not received a gift certificate, and have been on the look out for it. I know one of my hosts from the15th got theirs.

Linda as much as I cared about my so called MIL, she too did this! She would put the stuffed bird into one of those plastic bag things, a touch of S&P, and I mean a touch. Then she dropped the whole thing into a Nesco. This meant all the juices and grease stayed in the bag essentially boiling the bird. The stuffing was more like soup and greasy! It was so bad that within a couple of hours of eating Thanksgiving dinner, even if I remembered to avoid the stuffing, I had to make very sure I was either at home or on the way there. And there were no Black Friday sales for me! I usually did not recover from that dinner until the following Saturday!

well said, John. This is exactly what my MIL does with hers. It's not a dry bird, but there's no flavor either. She hates to cook and considers it a chore, I LIKE to cook and consider it a pleasure. I make food that has flavor which is her issue. Alas, we will never tell each other this fact, but we hate each other's cooking. It's hard to cook for her because of all the things she doesn't like: onions, cream cheese, spices....

You are gonna love this. I have a friend who is the same way. But it is because the flavors do not taste the same to him at all. there is something different about how his taste buds work. So we found a trick, we, those of us who do still try to keep him in mind when we cook, make any recipe that calls for lemon juice. Something about the sour counteracts the taste issue and the spices seem to be OK for him. Then again you might just be SOL and she may just be a Stereotypical MIL and just won't like anything anyone else cooks any way. Especially her daughter-in-law.
