Has anyone done this and does it work? I have a host who wants to do it but I have not done guacamole. Any tips?

I did it several months ago. I went to visit my so and took everything to do Fast Fajitas and homemade salsa. He bought the ingredients for guacamole. He actually bought a packet of seasoning that you just mix with the avocado. They loved it and it was so quick and easy to make with the MFP. Hope this helps.

i used it once too, worked great :) i recommend chopping up the tomatoes then add the avocado :)

I make fresh salsa (pico de gallo), take out about 3/4 to serve as dip, add softened cream cheese-& 2 peeled avocados & you have your creamy guacamole. Might need a little more salt. You can substitute sour cream & add extra chili depending on your crowd. For extra chili, I mean flakes or cayenne or chilitepines, not chili powder.

Hi there! I am a Pampered Chef consultant and I have definitely done this before. It is a great way to show off our products and engage with your guests. As for the guacamole, it is one of my favorite recipes to make with our products. My top tip would be to use our manual food processor to quickly and easily mash up the avocados. Also, don't forget to add some fresh lime juice for a little extra flavor. Your guests will love it! Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy cooking!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best avocados to use for guacamole?

For the best guacamole, choose ripe Hass avocados. They should be dark green to black in color and yield slightly to gentle pressure when squeezed. Avoid avocados that are too hard or overly soft, as they may not provide the right texture or flavor.

How can I enhance the flavor of my guacamole?

To enhance the flavor of your guacamole, consider adding ingredients like lime juice, diced tomatoes, chopped onions, minced garlic, and fresh cilantro. A pinch of salt and a dash of cumin can also elevate the taste. Experiment with different spices to find your perfect blend!

What is the best way to store leftover guacamole?

To store leftover guacamole, place it in an airtight container and press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to minimize air exposure, which can cause browning. Refrigerate it, and it should stay fresh for up to 1-2 days. Adding a layer of lime juice on top can also help preserve its color.

Can I make guacamole ahead of time?

Yes, you can make guacamole ahead of time, but it's best to prepare it no more than a few hours in advance to maintain freshness. If you need to make it earlier, store it properly as mentioned above to prevent browning. Freshly squeezed lime juice can help keep it vibrant and flavorful.

What are some common mistakes to avoid when making guacamole?

Common mistakes include using unripe avocados, adding too much lime juice, or not seasoning adequately. Additionally, over-mixing can lead to a mushy texture. It's best to mash the avocados gently and fold in other ingredients to maintain a chunky consistency.
