I just received my oval baker today that I had ordered on kit enhancement. It's got a few glaze skips and pinhole bubbles...is this a normal problem with the glazed stoneware? In fact, the glaze looks rather thin, compared to the glaze on the small oval baker from my starter kit. Is this a defect, or is this just the norm?

Many thanks!

Ann

Ann,
I'd do a product adjustment and ask for a new one, they probably will ask for that one back, it's not right if it's "thin" in places.

I had a hostess return one to me, that had I little itty bitty spot out of the glaze and they replaced it NO ?? asked.

HTH,

Lisa

Thanks, Lisa! I think I'll do just that....but I think I'll wait until Monday when the rest of my order should arrive. That way if I have any other problems I can address them all at once!Ann

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Glaze Skips on Pampered Chef Stoneware?

Glaze skips refer to areas on the stoneware where the glaze has not been applied evenly or at all, resulting in unglazed spots. This can occur during the manufacturing process and may affect the appearance and functionality of the stoneware.

How can I identify if my stoneware has a thin glaze?

A thin glaze can often be identified by a matte or dull finish on the surface of the stoneware, as opposed to a smooth and shiny appearance. Additionally, you may notice that food sticks more easily to areas with a thin glaze.

Are glaze skips and thin glaze defects covered under Pampered Chef's warranty?

Yes, Pampered Chef offers a warranty on their stoneware products. If you notice glaze skips or a thin glaze that affects the performance of your stoneware, you should contact customer service for assistance and potential replacement.

What should I do if I find glaze skips on my stoneware?

If you discover glaze skips, it is recommended to reach out to Pampered Chef's customer service. They can provide guidance on whether the item can be replaced or if there are any specific care instructions to follow.

Can I still use stoneware with a thin glaze or glaze skips?

While you can still use stoneware with a thin glaze or glaze skips, it may not perform as well as intended. Food may stick more, and the stoneware may be more prone to staining. It's best to monitor its performance and consider contacting customer service if issues arise.
