Okay, I have a booth tomorrow at the library and the theme is get creative. I was going to make a dirt cake to showcase the trifle bowl, but I don't think it's turning out (the mixture is way runny and I followed directions to a T!). Anyway, does anyone have any other ideas to show the Trifle Bowl as dirt (nevermind the pun) cheap as possible. Considering I have already spent some $$ on this, I don't want to spend much more. And it has to be quick too! I was thinking something not so sweet this time around.

Put some easter grass in it & some plastic easter eggs. ;)

This is a recipe I found called Diabetic Banana Pudding. It sounds yummy!
* 3-4 ripe bananas
* 1 box sugar free vanilla wafers
* 2 boxes of instant vanilla sugar free pudding
* 4 c 1% milk
* 16 oz container of sugar free whipped topping 1. Mix pudding and milk together- set aside.
2. Layer wafers on the bottom Trifle bowl. Neatly smooth in a generous layer of pudding. Peel and slice 1 banana place on top. Smooth in a layer of whipped topping.
3.Repeat step #2 (3) times or until you have filled the bowl.
4.Garnish the top by sprinkling wafer crumbs.How to Make Diabetic Banana Pudding | eHow.com

Okay now I have to work my prep hour today and that's when i thought i would run my errands and grocery shopping for tonight. I have one Trifle Bowl with flowers, easter grass and peeps. I was thinking maybe something like veggies or a veggie salad or something like that. Any ideas?

Crush up oreos... layer with chocolate pudding if you like..

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a trifle bowl and how can I use it creatively?

A trifle bowl is a large, typically glass bowl that is designed to showcase layered desserts and salads. You can use it creatively by layering different ingredients such as fruits, cakes, creams, and even savory items like pasta salads or layered dips. The transparent sides allow for beautiful presentation, making it perfect for parties and gatherings.

What are some dessert ideas to make in a trifle bowl?

Some popular dessert ideas include classic English trifle with layers of sponge cake, custard, fruit, and whipped cream. You can also create a chocolate trifle with layers of chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, and whipped cream, or a fruit parfait with yogurt, granola, and mixed berries. The possibilities are endless!

Can I use a trifle bowl for savory dishes?

Absolutely! A trifle bowl can be used for savory dishes as well. Consider creating a layered salad with greens, vegetables, cheese, and dressing, or a layered dip with refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and cheese. These savory options can be just as visually appealing as dessert trifles.

How do I layer ingredients in a trifle bowl for the best presentation?

To achieve the best presentation, start with a sturdy base layer, such as cake or cookies, followed by a layer of creamy filling, then fruits or other toppings. Repeat the layers, ensuring that each layer is visible from the outside of the bowl. Use contrasting colors and textures to create visual interest, and finish with a decorative topping like whipped cream or fresh fruit.

What are some tips for making a trifle ahead of time?

When making a trifle ahead of time, choose ingredients that hold up well, such as sturdy cakes and firm fruits. Assemble the trifle the day before serving, but add delicate toppings like whipped cream or fresh fruit just before serving to maintain freshness. Store the trifle in the refrigerator to keep it cool and prevent spoilage.
