Urgent Find Your Perfect Wedding Song | Country & Non-Country Options Available

In summary, the wedding went well and there were no major issues. Achy breaky heart by Bill Ray Cyrus was played at the end as the dance song.

My husband and I sang together in our wedding :sing::love: The song we used was "I Finally Found Someone" by Barbara Streisand and Bryan Adams. It's from the movie "A Mirror Has Two Faces."

My aunt also sang "I Will Be Here". It's a Christian wedding song you can get usually at Christian book stores.

I finally found someone, someone to share my life.
I finally found the one to be with every night.
And whatever you do it's just got to be you.
My life has just begun. I finally found someone.

THat's just the chorus. It's not a song that comes on the radio so you would have to do a search.

Also, I love Conway Twitty's voice. THere are a ton of Love songs by him.

Someone mentioned what they danced to with their father. My dad and I are more best friends than daddy/daughter. So, we started with Butterfly Kisses, but then cut in with the Twist. He taught me to do the twist at my cousin's wedding when I was a kid. It was so much fun! We got a standing ovation! Although the pictures of it...yuck. NO ONE looks good doing the Twist. :)

We were married 21 years ago and a friend sang the Statler Brother's My Only Love and an older gentleman we had known all our lives played a trumpet solo Always (I think it was an old song from the 40's).When we renewed our vows last year they played Lonestar's Amazedpartial Lyrics to My only Love:You and I were meant for one another
Today we'll join our hearts eternally
And this moment I'll always remember
All the words that mean so much to meAnd you're my only love
My only love
And I will thank the Lord above for you each day
I can't believe the way I feel You're so special you're so real
And I know you'll always be my only loveListen closely to the words I'm saying
I know I've never meant them more
For your love only I've been praying
You and I are what this love is forAnd you're my only love
My only love
And I will thank the Lord above for you each day
I can't believe the way I feel You're so special you're so real
And I know you'll always be my only love

My wedding song is going to be "That's All". It's been done by many, many people - an old standard. Not sure what version we're going with... maybe Michael Buble (much as I dislike his music in general, he has the slower vibe going in this song. Bobby Darin's version is much too fast.)

It was in the Wedding Singer, and my BF sings it to me all the time. :) It's got very nice lyrics which I am too lazy to look up right now, LOL.

Man, I must be old!! Wedding receptions weren't the big affairs they are now when I got married. No dancin.....just cake, punch, nuts & mints!

Oh my Gosh! Thanks Tara. I heard that song on the radio not too long ago and told myself when (and if) I ever get married again, that was the song I wanted.

Colin Raye, "The Gift". Great song and perfect for a wedding. We used it during our ceremony along with "From This Moment" (duet with Bryan White and Shania Twain). We danced to the original version (Keith Whitley) of "When You Say Nothing At All".

My Mom picked this song for my daughter and her husband for their wedding and it will always be special to me because my Mom passed away 2 weeks after the wedding unexpectedly.

In Your Hands

My life begins and ends
All that I am, I surrender to you
I’ve never felt so weak and yet so strong
I am home, where I belong
I was afraid, of losing everything
Now I’m amazed, ‘cause all I ever wanted
Was to lose, myself in you

In Your Hands
I place my trembling heart
All of my dreams, lead me to you
Now the tears of yesterday are gone
I’ve let go of holding on

There’s a place, where all my journeys end
Where my broken soul can mend
Here I stand, there’s nothing in my way
So I put my faith in you
I will give my all to you
My heart has at last learned to dance
In Your Hands

In Your Hands
I know that I am home
And I’ll never be alone
All that I am, is in your hands
My life begins and ends

This is just an all time favorite love song of mine!

Jordan Hill Until The End Of Time

David Foster, Brian McKnight

Looking at you, I can't believe that it's true
I've got someone who's crazy over me
Here and now, I am sure that I've found
What true love is and what true love should be

When you hold me then I know
That's where I belong and I don't want
To let you go
Nowhere in this world I'd rather be

You and I, can't deny, we can't deny
Heaven's here between your lips and mine
I promise I, I will never say good-bye
It's you and me 'til the end of time

It's just enough, all I've ever dreamed of
The love I pray for before I go to sleep
Just in time I never thought that I would find
Another reason to give all of me

When you hold me then I know
That's where I belong and I don't want
To let you go
Nowhere in this world I'd rather be

You and I, can't deny, we can't deny
Heaven's here between your lips and mine
I promise I, I will never say good-bye
It's you and me 'til the end of time

You are the air that I breathe
I've seen all that I need to see
Finally I know
Love is what used to be when
I don't and I won't have to spend
Another night alone
You don't have to be alone

You and I, can't deny, we can't deny
Heaven's here between your lips and mine
I promise I, I will never say good-bye
It's you and me 'til the end of time
It's you and me 'til the end of time
It's you and me 'til the end of time

Ours was from the movie "Yentl" believe it or not. Called "One of Those Moments"

There are moments you remember all your life, there are moments you wait for and dream of all your life... this is one of those moments.
I will always remember that chair, that window, the way the light streams in,
the clothes I'm wearing, the words I'm hearing, the face I'm seeing the feeling I'm feeling... the smells, the sounds, will be written in my mind... will be written in my heart... as long as I live....

Love the song True Companion posted by Dianville though! I cry like a baby every time I hear it! That one is so good! Vote #3.

The one that my DH and I used was 'My Best Friend' by Tim McGraw. It has been on the radio, but not one of his biggest hits. It had special meaning for us because we had been friends for so long before we dated.

I never had no one
I could count on
I’ve been let down so many times
I was tired of hurtin’
So tired of searchin’
’til you walked into my life
It was a feelin’
I’d never known
And for the first time
I didn’t feel alone

You’re more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Everytime I look at you
I don’t know where I’d be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You’re my best friend
You’re my best friend, oh yeah

You stand by me
And you believe in me
Like nobody ever has
When my world goes crazy
You’re right there to save me
You make me see how much I have
And I still tremble
When we touch
And oh the look in your eyes
When we make love

You’re more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Everytime I look at you
And I don’t know where I’d be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You’re my best friend
You’re my best friend

You’re more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Everytime I look at you
And I don’t know where I’d be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You’re my best friend
You’re my best friend (my best friend)
You’re my best friend (my best friend)

Hope this one helps! Let us know what you decide to use!!

My wedding song is From This Moment from Shania Twain. It has been on the radio but I used the CD version which is a duet as opposed to the version with just Shania Twain singing it on the radio.

My husband and I danced to Elton John "Your Song"

Its a little bit funny this feeling inside
Im not one of those who can easily hide
I dont have much money but boy if I did
Id buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show
I know its not much but its the best I can do
My gift is my song and this ones for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that its done
I hope you dont mind
I hope you dont mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while youre in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well theyve got me quite cross
But the suns been quite kind while I wrote this song
Its for people like you that keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see Ive forgotten if theyre green or theyre blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

I thought this was funny, given the subject. My friend is a computer guy and I emailed him a question. He wrote back one minute later with this:

"cant today... our maid of honor is getting married this evening. i'm finishing up the slideshow that was dumped on me and then i have to get there early to set it up and take pictures. i havent had lunch or showered yet. if i have to hear "I Finally Found Someone" by Bryan Adams and Streisand, i'll lose it."

ok - I cannot figuer out who sings this but it really touches me every ime I hear it which is very very rarely... I'll be yours until the sun doesn't shine... till time stands still... I'll still be lovin'..I'll still be lovin' I'll still be lovin'you...
Does anyone know the song i am talking about?

No country here, but almost 28 years ago, our song was "Always and Forever" by Heatwave.

They always play it at weddings we attend, and we still dance to it every time! We even sign all our cards to each other with that ....Always and Forever, Love, XXXXX

Our wedding song was not country, but still very pretty and it wasn't played on the radio very much. It was by Benny Mardones and was called "I want it all".

What is a sunset, without a sky
What is a baby without its favorite lullaby
What is leaving without a soft goodbye kiss
It might be alright, but I want it all
So tell me what life is without enjoying the ride
What is winning without the feeling of pride
Tell me what love is, what love is without you by my side
It might be alright, but I want it all
I want it now
I want the world to show me how
I want to sing and dance and make good love and sweet romance
I want to dream and it comes true
I want to spend my nights with you
I want it all, but most of all
I want you
You know I do

What is forgiveness
without letting go
What is an angel without, without miracles to show
Tell me life is, what my life is without you in my heart

It might be alright
But I want it all, I want it now
I want the world to show me how
I want to sing and dance and make good love and sweet romance
I want to dream and it comes true
I want to spend my nights with you
I want it all, but most of all
I want you
You know I do

I want to share my life with everyone I meet
I want to live and love and rise above the struggle and defeat
and what about you, what about you, what about you
Do you want it too?

I want it all
I want it all
I want it all, I want it now
I want the world to show me how
I want to sing and dance and make good love and sweet romance
I want to dream and it comes true
I want to spend my life with you
I want it all, but most of all
I want you
You know I do
I want you

i always listen to my ipod when im getting ready. today the bf wasnt home so i got to blast it really loud on the docking station (thats always my favorite way to get ready). a song by craig morgan came on - if you like that. i instantly thought of this thread :D its from his "my kind of livin" cd.

My car broke down on our first date;
We missed the movie an' we never ate;
It was freezin' cold an' the heater broke.
I apologized: you kissed me goodnight,
An said: "It couldn't have been any better."
Girl, if you like that, you're gonna love forever.

If you like that ring you saw in the window,
In the jewellery store down town.
If you like tuxedos an' white satin dresses,
Maybe you better sit down.
If you like driftin' off to soft pillow talk,
An wakin' up together,
Girl, if you like that, you're gonna love forever.

If you like livin' on a rural route,
Fixin' up an' old farmhouse.
Hugs with your coffee and your good mornin's with a kiss
If you like startin' a fire on a cold winter's night,
An' makin' dreams come true together:
Girl, if you like that, you're gonna love forever.

If you like that movie we saw last September:
The one you cried half way through.
If you liked that scene where he got down on one knee,
Girl, have I got somethin' for you.
If you like love like wine that grows sweeter with time,
An' keeps gettin' better an' better,
Girl, if you like that, you're gonna love forever.

If you like love like wine that grows sweeter with time,
An' keeps gettin' better an' better,
Girl, if you like that, you're gonna love forever.
Girl, if you like that, you're gonna love forever.

I don't have time to read everyone's ideas right now (hubby and I are leaving for a party), but I would use John Denver's "For You."

You can listen to it on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5Lqqnf6N5o or

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dVwhZ5GN_E&feature=related

Just to look in your eyes again
Just to lay in your arms
Just to be the first one always there for you
Just to live in your laughter
Just to sing in your heart
Just to be everyone of your dreams come true

Just to sit by your window
Just to touch in the night
Just to offer a prayer each day for you
Just to long for your kisses
Just to dream of your sighs
Just to know that Id give my life for you

For you for the rest of my life
For you all the best of my life
For you alone, only for you

Just to wake up each morning
Just to you by my side
Just to know that you're never really far away
Just a reason for living
Just to say I adore
Just to know that youre here in my heart to stay

For you for the rest of my life
For you all the best of my life
For you alone, only for you

Just the words of a love song
Just the beat of my heart
Just the pledge of my life, my love, for you

I love this song!

Let me know how you like it.

DH & I didn't dance at our reception. Very low key.

BUT, ex-dh & I danced to Endless Love by Lionel Richie & Diana Ross. Didn't hold true for us, but it is a beautiful song. reminds me of just pure love.

That was the song my husband and I used. We started dating in 1981 and it was "our song." We married in 1987 and it was such a great moment.

We had Garth Brooks 'To Make You Feel My Love'. It was in the movie Hope Floats. Very slow and very romantic! Here's YouTube link:

Congrats on your upcoming wedding:love:

YouTube - Garth Brooks - To Make You Feel My Love

Words:

When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I would offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love
When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love
I know you haven't made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I've known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong
I'd go hungry, I'd go blind for you
I'd go crawling down the aisle for you
There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do
To make you feel my love
The storms are raging on a rolling sea
Down the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
But you ain't seen nothing like me yet
There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
Make you happy, make your dreams come true
To make you feel my love

YES! It's I'll Still Be Loving You, and the version I'm familiar with is by Restless Heart. I got to meet them in person years ago and I love their music...very good song, too. :)

Feeling less lazy today, so here are the lyrics for "That's All"

I can only give you love that lasts forever,
And a promise to be near each time you call.
And the only heart I own
For you and you alone
That's all,
That's all...

I can only give you country walks in springtime
And a hand to hold when leaves begin to fall;
And a love whose burning light
Will warm the winter's night
That's all,
That's all.

There are those I am sure who have told you,
They would give you the world for a toy.
All I have are these arms to enfold you,
And a love even time can't destroy.

If you're wondering what I'm asking in return, dear,
You'll be glad to know that my demands are small.
Say it's me that you'll adore,
For now and evermore
That's all,
That's all.
