So, my director calls me at 5:30 to see if I can cover for another consultant who is having an emergency. Nope. Can't do it. I have a show tonight.

I drive to the host's house. It's dark. I pull up. I ring the doorbell. She comes to the door.

Let me get my stuff, I say.

Ok, she says.

I unload everything. Two trips. Up two sets of stairs.

I am wondering why her table is covered with groceries. And why there are stuffed shells on the counter. And why there are no appetizers out. But hey. Different strokes, right?

She tells me she is going to set me up at a card table in the kitchen. Fine, I say. I stand and wait.

Are you getting the card table? I ask.

I thought I might wait until...

TOMORROW NIGHT!!!! She says.

Yes. I actually showed up at her house on the wrong night.

And of course by the time I called back my director, she had covered the other show.

I need glasses AND a head examination!

Just thought you guys could use a laugh!

Oh my gosh...you poor thing...how embarrsing!:o

Nah, I wasn't embarrassed. I laughed my head off and told the host to feel free to tell everyone. It is just too ridiculous!

I would have fell over, lol. You could just tell her you were anxious to get ready, lololol.

OH MY GOD!!! was the host at least laughing with you?

I am surprised the host didn't tell you that the show was tomorrow night befoe you brought all of your products inside. By being a day early it just showed the host how anxious you were about her show. Maybe if you tell all of the guests about the incident they will buy more.

LOL. I hope the host laughed with you.

I'm with April, I can't believe she didn't say anything to you!

So did you just leave your stuff at her house?

I was kinda' wondering the same thing Deb, lol.

Actually, I would have left all the stuff, except that I thought there might still be time for me to cover my director's emergency show. But, alas, when I called her, she had already found someone. She was laughing HER head off, though, when I told her what happened!

My host was sort of shocked when I showed up, but just assumed that I was dropping off my gear ahead of time. It was really priceless! And yes, I think she was laughing... a little at me, a little with me!

I came home and described the whole thing to my husband, who was in stitches.

We all had a great chuckle out of it, I must say. And I am pretty sure my guests will find it funny too.

My motto is 'never pass up an opportunity to laugh at yourself!'

Oh my goodness..... I would have been embrassed......... but its funny at the same time.

that TOTALLY cracks me up! Sounds like something I'd do!

How hilarious!! I would've died!!!

That is so funny! And it's SO something I would do myself. I would have loved to be there when the hostess said "I thought I would wait until tomorrow night" LOL! I bet your face was priceless!

OMG, I would have died:eek: Well, when you're all laughing about it at the actual show, you can point out how even dingy people can do this job! I've always been scared that something like this would happen to me cause I'm very dingy!:)

One thing for sure we have to know how to do in this business is LAUGH at ourselves.
That is so funny. I was wondering why she didn't say anything either while you were bringing your stuff in. I would have said, "Oh, setting up a day early?" or "I didn't know you were setting up a night early." LOL

I can't wait to hear how it went tonight!

The actual showwas a success! She is at almost $800 with a few outside orders to go. Here's the funny thing though. Yes, everyone had a good chuckle. But no one, not one person, booked a party! Ya think they were scared I would show up on the wrong night, LOL?

How funny:) Well at least you have good sales! And hey, try calling everyone personally asking them if they'd like to book....promise you'll be at their house on the right day;) lol
