:( I signed up for this book that was advertised at this site and nothing happened, it is an ebook so of course I thought I would be directed to how to download and I wasn't. Has anyone else made this purchase and am I doing something wrong?

You'll need to take your website info off of your signature and just leave /lorna. I don't know about the e book. Sorry.

Hi - first, take the link to your personal website out of your siggy - a "no no" here (you can list the end of your website, like "/name", but not the whole www. pc . biz/...)

Secondly, I would never pay for an ad for help for a DS company anywhere. PC gives us all the training we need and more, all for very reasonable costs on our supply orders and at National Conf. and Leadership Summit, so it's really not necessary. See if you can get your money back - if not, lesson learned. :(

Hi Lorna,
Welcome! I've not heard of what you mention. I think you'll hear from others here that we're not allowed to use the full Pampered Chef website (due to their strict ad policy). We just shorten it to "/lorna" and everyone knows the rest. Hopefully you'll get resolution to your purchase issue!

Oh, my, we're all fast!

Another thing the others haven't mentioned - the admin here doesn't choose the ads... they're randomly served by google... so unless someone else here happened to be logged out to see that ad, most of us haven't even seen it. Sorry. :(

Jennifer is so smart!

If you used a credit card, hopefully you can reverse charges. Not sure if it's possible, but it's worth a shot. I don't know what to tell you, though, as I don't know what ad you're referring to. Personally, I NEVER click on ANY ads on websites (google/yahoo sponsored or not). If I want to look up something I'll use a search engine, but I will NOT click on ads. I've found, at least in the past, 90% of the time the ads were not exactly legit. So I just stay clear. ;)

Like previously mentioned, Pampered Chef provides you with EVERYTHING you'll ever need! Check out Consultant's Corner and take the Online Training Courses, and check out the Tele-talk classes (I think that's what they're called). If you still need more advice/info ask people here for opinions on books to buy or check out at the library (ours has a whole section on home-based businesses and DS). Make sure to talk to your Recruiter and Director, they may know of things to check out. I know my Director talks about Belinda Ellsworth a lot and loves her talks she gives.

There really is no "secret" to party companies that aren't revealed here or other places for free. Hard work pays off, and you get out of your company what you put into it. :) The great thing about it is that we are all unique, and my Shows are different from your Shows. No two Shows will be alike, and that's what draws people back for more! But we all share something in common and we help each other find what is helpful and what works.

HTH,

I am very sorry that we haven't been able to help you, Lorna. I hate seeing a new user with a question we can't answer.Ask about products, or the business... we'll stumble over ourselves finding you answers. We promise. It's fun here, really. :)

Lorna - I did not even catch the part where you said you had paid for the ebook - I read it as you were simply asking for info on the ad. You can probably call your credit card company and have them give you the info if it has already been charged. Other than that, I dont know and I'm sorry!

And yes - we are very good here usually about helping!

Dumb question, but why do we not put the whole web address down? just /chefyadayada. I'm new:)

Because it's against PC guidelines to list our web addresses on the internet. By just listing the last part of the address, WE know what it means but we're not breaking the rules.

oh. well that's definitely good to know. i've got lots to learn. thanks!

I read the same add you did, it was what brought me to this web site when I googled "Pampered Chef". Being new to PC & DS, I was also tempted, but was not going to pay $50 for something I had to print myself. I decided to utilize what PC provides, then if I felt I was still needing something I was sure I could always order the ebook later. Thanks for letting us know it is a scam, but I am sorry you found out the hard way.

I also had my signature block done incorrectly. I have fixed it too.

I actually found this site by clicking on an add, so it is okay sometimes.:)

All has been taken care of, fixed my signature and resolved the ebook. Will let you all know what I think of it.

Yes, please do that! There ARE some people out there who sell good training stuff for DS companies - Belinda Ellsworth and the Lemonaid Lady both have good stuff, from what I've heard. Hopefully this ebook will fall in that category!

While you are all on the topic of e-book. our chefsuccess administrator is putting one together. Has anyone contemplated submitting to this? What are your thoughts? Concerns?

I'm hoping Greg will do some excerpts of the book when it's ready for sale - but like every other project he's done, it'll be wonderful and worthwhile, I don't doubt that. This is the man who brought us Chef Success and Director Chef Success, after all.

I'm glad you were able to get it resolved! That is great news! Please do tell us if it is worth it or not. :)

I guess I should have been more clear about the ads. I didn't mean ads that were on this site were mostly bad, I meant ads in general 'out there.' I co-own and run another forum site like this, non-PC, and ads on our site aren't always what they seem, or are spam/scam-ish. Like it was already mentioned, the owners of sites don't control what ads google and yahoo decide to put out there. And, yes, I have seen chefsucess in some of those ads! So there are great links out there. It's just 'clicker beware,' I guess. :D lol
