My dad just booked a show for his fellow firefighters and their spouses. He wants to do a "beer show", that focuses on cooking with beer. Any ideas?

Beer Battered Fish or Onion Rings! Use the UM to slice the Onion Rings and the Batter Bowls.

PS ~ I'll take a Bud Light! ;)

Beer steamed shrimp?? This could be really fun

And beer bread

Brats boiled in beer, and then grilled! Yummy!

I'm also thinking the Beer Can Chicken....but not sure how to do this in stoneware........

Or beer pancakes

Didn't someone post that you use the large fluted pan?
I think it was Debbie that posted it - it was pretty recent.

I guess there are still some "old fashioned" departments out there.

Over half of our department doesn't drink. We actually have a "no tolerance" policy for beer on our grounds except for the picnic in August for the public...

Another idea...make a lot of dips with dill, southwestern seasoning, etc. and serve with chips, pretzels, etc. (Kind of like bar food...)

I bake ham with beer. Had it for EAster and everyone loves it.

My DD needs to make a German recipe and feed it to us (please be praying...lol!)

Anyways, I went to www.foodnetwork.com and typoed "German" in the search. A ton of those recipes incoluded beer, including a really good one from "Boy Meets Grill" (Bobby Flay) that's for grilli ng. HTH!

I have heard that if you take 1 can of frozen concentrate limeade and mix with beer in the quick stir pitcher that it tastes just like a Corona. I know you will probably have lots of Beer there, but maybe there are some cheapos that would appreciate a way to get the taste of Corona without the extra price. Plus you get to use the quick stir pitcher. Just be careful when you plunge it. Plunge it slowly or it will overflow.

Wash and pat dry a whole chicken and place it over the post in the Stoneware Fluted Pan. Pour a can of beer in the stoneware and bake for 1 - 1 1/2 hours (depends on the size of the chicken) at 375 degrees.

I'm not sure what the policy is for "at the department". I would imagine it wouldn't be tolerated there either. My dad is having the show at his house, and it's not on a day his shift is working.

thanksThese are all great ideas! I guess I better get to trying some of these, especially that fluted pan chicken with beer. Has anyone actually tried it?

I have made the fluted pan chicken many times and it always turns out great! Very moist. There is no alcohol in the chicken and doesn't taste like beer. The beer steam adds moisture to the meat (water would also work just as well as beer - I have done it that way too).

Guiness Corned Beef in stoneware

1 btl Guinness 3/4 cup Brown Sugar 1 Corned Beef Brisket- put Guinness and brisket in pan, top with brown sugar bake as usual.

Drunken Chicken... That's what I have heard it called! You put the beer can in the chicken... and set it upright. YUMMO!!!

Yes Please!

I used to be a partner in a wholesale beer/wine operation and for charity events, I would auction off a "beer tasting" party. All the food I made was made with the beers they were paired with. I am pretty sure I have the recipes around somewhere, even made ice cream with Guinness. Which BTW, is very, very good. I also did "wine tasting parties, but we always got more $$ for the beer ones, plus the people who purchased them always seemed to be more fun.

I made a brie that was stuffed with mushrooms and onions, cooked in beer and some other stuff, then I wrapped it in puff pastry and baked it. That was a big hit. Also made these meatballs that were simmered in a beer sauce. I had a soup recipe, and , I think, a few cheese spreads.

Like I said, if you want to see these, let me know.

& I rarely finish a beer or glass of wine when it comes to drinking it !!
