In my July CN - it arrived today.

That's awesome, John!!!! Congratulations. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

It's more fun getting that CN early as a Director when there's "secret" announcements and stuff. This month (well July actually) there's nothing new in there because they're saving all the announcements for conference.

I can't wait for conference!!:)

I'm happy for you Mr. John! Way to go!!!!!!

Geez guys you're making me blush!!I found out via e-mail late last night. I haven't seen it in print yet!
WAAA HOOOO!!!!

Hey my success is due to many caring people! And 12 dear friends. And that is the truth. I went to 4 business owner friends and asked if they could help me out by letting me hold fund raising events. The problem, they are all connected to a different group who currently has exclusive rights in these 4 restaurants. I asked one friend the second Tuesday in May. He responded with a negative but a donation. I didn't hit on the idea to ask the others until the Memorial Day weekend. And get this, I didn't have one order until after Memorial Day!! So, each owner gave me $500 a piece. They said I could use it however I wanted but that I had to make sure it went to the cause. They were also aware of the fact that I was a little over $3000 from my $100,000 in career sales. So I made a deal with the devil so to speak. I used the $2000 to give anyone who ordered over $100 worth of products, 50% off. I told everyone about it the day after Memorial Day and the orders came pouring in. My mom even spent $200 plus! She was thrilled as she really wanted the polk-a-dot dinner ware! That act of kindness by my donors is what really worked. They cared enough to want to help no matter what. It made the difference with my guests too. Yeah, it was a bribe but I think for the right reasons. I sent through 42 orders! 39 were over $100. Yes, it got me what I wanted but it also made a great difference in the fight against breast cancer. I also went from having 11 reason's to having 12 reason to do this. Sucks!!! The second Tuesday of June, right before our cluster meeting, I got a call from a friend. She called to tell me that another friend decided to have a total mastectomy. Her cancer test, the one that checks for the cancer gene, came back with a 98% chance of getting cancer. She already had a total hysterectomy due to cancerous cells showing up there. So, she decided not to wait for breast cancer. I cried. It was awful to hear but, Hiede knew what she was doing. She researched it so well. And I realized that what I had been doing for the last 7 years made that decision possible. Without our help, these areas of knowledge may never have been known to anyone. After all, part of our project is Breast Cancer Education. This means making all of that info public. She goes into surgery the Monday after the 4th. So wish her well and thanks to all of you as well!

Way to go John!!

I am doing the happy dance, too! (Linda, I love your smiley!)

Thanks - I've been finding them on photobucket.

Thanks guys! I am passing along the good wishes to Heide tonight. I could say I can't imagine having to make that kind of decision but that would not be true. However, to actually go through with it... I guess the word "unphathumable"(SP) comes to mind. Heide is strong, courageous and just well, REMARKABLE!
I gotta tell you, I cried when I heard but then realized that she is in far less danger this way. She made a decision, made all the necessary arragements and has several friends standing by to help her through so. The best thing now is prayer.
So thank you again and I will tell her that a lot of lovely souls are thinking about her in her journey.

Re: Way to go John Watschke!!Congrats on the fundraiser, and to the friends who helped it happen. Very cool idea.

Add my prayers to the list, John. As a 6 1/2 year BC survivor, I do know there are blessings to be found in the fight, too. Heide has made a tough decision... I pray this decision brings her peace.

I am so glad to meet you Sallie! WAA HOO on being a survivor! I love to hear that! I hate that you had to go through that experience. Do you mind if I ask how extensive? Even still, 6.5 years, that is FABULOUS Darling! All clear still I hope! And you are keeping up with the checkups?
I know she has made the right decision. Whether any one else agrees with that is of little consiquence as it was no one else's to make. She knows the risks involved and she knows it will be a while before she will return to "normal" life but hey, she keeps talking about the alternative. So she is good with it.
Now, she goes in on July 9th. The doctors told her that she will be laid up for about a week with the hospital stay TBD and no heavy anything for another month. So we need prayers for her quick and easy recovery. AND to give her family the stength to BEHAVE and be accommodating. I forgot that they are SSOOO very picky when it comes to other people cooking for them. So... we'll see. We were laughing at the fact that her oldest son, 17 I think, decided "he needed to drop about 30 pounds anyway!"
My spelling is bad I know but... Webster I ain't!
Please keep Heide in your prayers! Thanks!
