PartiesbyJamie said:After my first conference I made myself notes on what to back next time ... #1 - VERY COMFORTABLE SHOES!!! #2 - a sweater for chilly conference rooms #3 nice capri's & top is just fine - you'll want something nice for your dinner but you should be comfortable during the day. The biggest thing was the shoes! I brought all my "cute" dressy sandals and shucked them after day 1, except at dinner.
have fun - it's so awesome!!!

Yeah- that's exactly what I was referring to when I mentioned people looking like streetwalkers. I saw one woman one year in a low-cut, spaghetti-strap, LACE cami as her shirt. And she was a large woman. The straps looked like shoelaces tied around bread dough. *shudder*DessertDivaFL said:Since this will be my first time going I am wondering if anyone has shown up displaying their "assets". You know what I am getting at, right? Seems like women down here in FL like to "advertise" themselves with low-cut blouses.
When I go shopping it surprises me how low-cut the clothes are. Seems like you have to buy a T-shirt to go underneath.

I am glad this was brought up because I would have felt bad being there dressed incorrectly and probably left early

I have been thinking there must be some leeway for me. My nice clothes consist of a pair of decent capris and a denim skirt. I will most likelly wear both of them. I may even wear a pair of jeans with a nice shirt because of the shoes. I am dreading walking all over McCormick center in sandals and I will only wear my tennis shoes with jeans so we'll see.
That being said, I will be walking the stage so I will wear a nice black dress and then all I have to worry about is again the shoes, I hope my heels still fit in July!
I really would just come to conference and wear what you wear to work. Last year I bought new clothes for conference and this year we just can't afford it. I wouldn't let it keep me from going. If you decide to come and are in wave 1 we could hang out in jeans together so we both feel better

Don't go into labor during conference... you might miss something important...LOL HA HA
It depends on the dress code specified by the conference organizers. Some conferences may allow business casual attire, in which case cropped pants may be considered appropriate. However, if the dress code is strictly business or formal, it is best to avoid wearing cropped pants.
In most cases, no. Denim is generally considered too casual for a conference setting. It is best to opt for more professional and polished fabrics such as cotton, wool, or linen.
No, shorts are typically not allowed at conferences. They are considered too casual and may not be appropriate for a professional setting. It is best to stick to longer pants or skirts for a conference.
Besides denim and shorts, it is also important to avoid wearing clothing items that are too revealing or overly casual. This includes tank tops, flip flops, and athletic wear. It is always best to err on the side of caution and opt for more professional attire.
If the dress code is not specified, it is best to go for a business casual look. This typically includes dress pants or skirts, blouses or button-down shirts, and closed-toe shoes. Avoid anything too casual or too formal, and make sure your outfit is clean and well put-together.
