Just trying to get an idea of how you do a weekday eveing show??

The same way you'd do a weekend show.

Not sure what you are looking for but I usually schedule shows for 6:30. I get there between 5:30 and 5:45. I try to do quick recipes, either no cook or less than 30 mins.

Paulette,
What are somethings you fix(cook)?

Weekday shows are about all I do. The occasional weekend, but not to often ecspecially with summer starting soon. I do shows at 630 or 7 and get done by 830 or 9. I mahe BLT Ranch Salad Pizza, Tex-Mex Chicken Melts, Aloha Pizza, Garden Ranch Pizza. They turn out great and everyone loves them!!

My weekday evening shows are also about 6:30 - 7 p.m. Will usually do a dessert or pizza. I typically only do one recipe because people get tired after working all day, etc. and after a while you start to "loose them". Friday night shows are really fun because people usually like to "party" and relax after a long week at work.

I do both kinds of shows & I usually do pretty much the same recipes at each. I start at either 6:30 or 7. I'll ask the host if she wants more of a main dish or a dessert. I usually bring something already done too, like a dip or a dessert if that's not what we're making. They are usually eating by 8 & I'm out by 9-9:30 & that's with closing the show with the host too.

Right now I'm liking the trfles. Very quick and easy.
We did an awesome recipe at our mtg monday. It is on the Mix n chop use and care called Mexican fiesta pizza. Showed lots of tools. Prebale crescent roll crust on the bar pan and bring with to the show. No other cooking except browning ground beef in cookware.

Thanks for the help everyone

I would second doing a trifle! They are quick and easy and gives you tons of time to talk about anything else (HWC, Booking, Recruiting, etc) and still have the show be short in length! At my last show my total time was 3 hours including set up, order taking, and take down... it was great! I'm doing a trifle as much as possible now :)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a Weekday Evening Show Be Short and Sweet with a Trifle?

Yes, a weekday evening show can definitely be short and sweet with a trifle! A trifle is a simple and quick dessert that can be prepared in advance, allowing you to spend more time engaging with your guests rather than in the kitchen.

What Ingredients Do I Need for a Trifle?

For a basic trifle, you will need layers of cake (like pound cake or sponge cake), pudding or custard, fruit (such as berries or bananas), and whipped cream. You can also add nuts or chocolate for extra flavor and texture.

How Long Does It Take to Prepare a Trifle?

Preparing a trifle can take as little as 30 minutes, depending on the complexity of your recipe. If you prepare some components in advance, like the pudding or cake, you can assemble the trifle quickly right before your show.

Can I Make a Trifle Ahead of Time?

Absolutely! In fact, making a trifle ahead of time is recommended. You can assemble it a few hours or even a day before your show. Just keep it refrigerated until it's time to serve, which will allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

How Can I Keep My Weekday Evening Show Engaging with a Simple Dessert?

To keep your show engaging, focus on storytelling while preparing the trifle. Share tips on how to customize the dessert, involve your guests by asking for their favorite ingredients, and encourage them to share their own dessert experiences. This interaction can make a simple dessert feel special and memorable.
