Help!!!!I'm doing my first booth next week and trying to come up with ideas on keeping the table simple, not to cluttered, but beautiful. So, I'm stuck on what to put out and how to decorate on a small budget. Any advise would greatly be appreciated. It will be outside and we don't know if there will be power or not. What to serve and such?

I've done lots of booths. Some I've had little samples and others I haven't. I don't think it really makes a difference, so I wouldn't go to the trouble of making something to have out as samples. Especially if you're going to be outside! And if your weather is anything like it is up here by Chicago (it's about 90-93 today....near record-breaking for this time of year) nothing will last long outside. If you have the small Chillzanne bowl, it's kind of neat to make one of the dips (I LOVE the Farmer's Market Seasoning Sets) and a loaf of beer bread and just have those out. Again, I wouldn't go to too much trouble. In terms of products to have, some of the grilling stuff is great and if you have the whole carrying case, it actually props up nicely against the table on the floor if you run out of room. Definitely bring a small piece of the cookware and some small SA piece. Oh and the Chopper. Thats' really all you need. I used to bring my tool turnabout and have that on the table, but it just clutters it and really doesn't add much.

As for decorating the booth....let the products do that! Keep it simple. If you have some Spring/Summer ones, definitely use those because they're so colorful. I was using all the Help Whip Cancer stuff, too, but next weekend will be June so there's no need to do that. If you don't have a PC banner or anything, I would suggest investing in one of those "tri-fold" boards that you can put a BIG PC logo (someone posted a high resolution one on here a couple months ago that was perfect...it's probably in the files somewhere) and other stuff on the board. I did this awhile ago and I've used it a TON. It's just nice to have. Stick certain things on there with temporary adhesive (like that white sticky tack stuff) so you can change it out....like the specials or promotions. Put some opportunity stuff on there and just make it fun. That way people don't have to look too hard to figure out who you are. I bought some of that bulletin board border stuff like teachers use in the classroom and used it as a border.

It's time-consuming to do it, but once you have it, you rarely have to do any work on it again. And you can use it for ANY booths and even take it to shows if you want. I usually just let it stand at the back of my table since it's a tri-fold, it will stand up by itself.

Hope that helps!:) Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

thanks so much! I'm feeling scattered and frazzled. I work 4 days a week and have a 2 year old. I never feel like I have enough time to do all that I want and I'm a perfectionist! Thanks for the great ideas and I'll check with my director for a banner. Today it's suppose to be close to 100 degrees here in STL. and I'm hoping it cools off by next weekend considering it's outside. Thanks again!:D

We aren't licensed to be able to serve any food at the booths we do. You can have stuff available for hands-on, garlic for them to try out the garlic press, chop potatoes with the chopper, peel apples with the apcs. I've found that having hands on makes a sticky mess and doesn't smell great, so I'd keep it at just a display. Don't try offering any samples, we just can't do that.

Becky,

Do you have a photo of your display board that you can post? I would love to see your design. I am looking into doing some booths as well, and I need to get some ideas for the display board.

Thanks!
