Well I had a cluster meeing an hour away tonight so I didn't get to do as many "live" contacts as I wanted to do.

I gave a catalog (the current one with specials) to the school librarian today.

I also confirmed a February catalog show. This was the one I was supposed to follow up with from the other day though. Turns out she is opting to do the catalog show instead of the cooking show. Bummer.

The rest were all answering machines.

My contacts today were mainly follow ups with guests that I met at my shows over the weekend. (and host coaching, but I don't count those calls). Got a handfull of answering machines too!

~Saw one guest/recruit lead when I went to a host's work place to pick up the rice cooker I left behind. The guest had started to look at the Opp DVD/brochure, but she is currently going through a divorce, and is not ready to be a consultant. However, she is interested in hosting a February show.

~Spoke to another guest from another show who I gave opportunity info. She is not interested right now, but will be hosting a show for my Saturday host who is seriously considering the Biz!

~Reached another booth lead, but when I asked her if I had reached her at an okay time, she said, No! No, it is not, and hung up right away!

Just got back from a fun show. $600 in sales (so far) and 2 bookings. I had my first "slice n dice" moment at a show tonight. I was using the apple wedger on an apple, and looked down and there was blood dripping everywhere! :yuck: I'm not even sure how it happened.

Thankfully, of all shows, this was the one my good buddy JAE picked to come to for observation! She was wonderful and stepped in and took over while the host was performing first aid on my finger.

The funniest part of the whole evening was that I sold 6 apple wedgers!:D :D

Hey, Becky, did you ask the guests if they wanted to have a show when they checked out with you? I was going to sit close and listen, but the weather was concerning me. I thought I should leave. It was 8:55 when I got home. The weather got very cold right after that.

Yes - at least the ones I could get to sit down! I almost had a 3rd booking, but the one lady convinced her to wait and book at her show, so she would have a booking too.... Oh well, it's all good - and it's still a booking for me!

I just emailed you about my horrendous ride home...

Oh - there you are emailing me back!:D -------

Well, you proved they were sharp!

Way to go stepping in JAE. :)

I should try saying the person's name and say, "why don't you come on over here and double check that I put in the correct items for your order." Then they have to look closely at my computer and sit near me. Then I can ask them questions w/o everyone else butting in quite as much.

Oh, and Janet, thanks. I really didn't do that much. I just double washed the apple wedger in really hot water and the bar board. Then I wedged another apple. I have a hard time sitting that long anyway when I see that there are things to be done, even if Becky hadn't sliced her finger!

Okay so I made contacts today.

#1. A lady that has been bugging my FOREVER about the digital thermometer is now going to "pass" because she found one similar at William Sonoma for about the same price! She is not ready to host but wants a new catalog and says I can keep following up with her. She would at least do a catalog show for me sometime in the future if she couldn't get around to the cooking show.

#2. Host coaching. (I know, this doesn't count but it was a REALLY great host coaching call. I am really looking forward to this woman's show.

#3. Followed up with someone about the business! She wants me to send her some info along with the consultant agreement just incase! I am trying not to get my hopes up but I really want this!

Host coaching counts if you ask her about becoming a consultant and/or tell her about rebooking in the next 6 months.

yesterday I closed a show, talked with a team member and that was it!:yuck: :yuck: Feeling consumed by PC lately and a little frustrated too! bookings are good, so I'm not sure what it is, maybe my impatience on the recruiting thing, or just wanting too much too soon? Think I may need to step back and re-evaluate my "why" and either tone things down or take the time to recharge and come out "gangbusters" again!

oh, and I forgot to thank you Becky for the potato demo! You're the best!!

Did you do it? Did it work out okay for you?

When I start feeling consumed, I take a day or two away, and have a breather. It's nice to give yourself permission for some time off! Actually, I have come back "gangbusters" after taking off Dec. 15 - Jan. 15.....I really needed that time to spend with family and just relax and not think about PC. It was nice - and by the time my first January Show came around on the 15th, I was ready for it! I did miss out on the tablecloth.....but I'm not sad about it. I made the decision and the choice to bypass that incentive very intentionally. In the overall scheme of my business, how important was it to get a striped tablecloth?

Anyway - that is sort of my thought process on how I decide how and what to do for my business. Taking that time away was probably the best thing I could have done. I've been excited about my shows, have had a great time doing them, met some really great people.......and have over $4000 in sales during double points time!

You have been doing AWESOME Amy - you are an incredible recruiter...and have a great excitement for your business. Don't let yourself get burned out! Take some time for self/family and do some things that are totally unrelated to PC. It may be the best thing you could do for your business.

Okay, so Monday I had 3 contacts. One of those is planning to host a party once she has things settled in her new house. She's hosted before, so I can count on her. The other contacts didn't result in anything measurable.

Tuesday I was at the hospital with a friend's mom. My friend had a hysterectomy (news is guardedly good), and she had asked me to keep her mom company. A couple of women from my friend's church showed up to also keep mom company. Long story short, I now have a February catalog party in the works. :)

To make a short story long, I wanted to share something from the Zig Ziglar Newsletter I opened today. I opened this after reading an email from a customer. I had just sent her a birthday email. Her email started out:

Thank you so much. I have a discount card from my first show that I done and the girl was awful. I am so glad I met you.

An order for over $47 accompanied her message. Having talked with her before, I know that her opinion of the consultant had to do with the consultant's attitude. She asked the consultant a couple of questions about her host benefits and about becoming a consultant. She felt that the consultant considered her host questions a bother. She never answered her questions about becoming a consultant. (And, yes, she’s on my recruit leads list.)

Then I read this in my Zig Ziglar Newsletter:

So why do customers leave? Take a look at the following list and the percentage of people who left for each reason.

• 3% move away
• 5% develop other friendships
• 9% for competitive reasons
• 14% are dissatisfied with the product or service
• 68% because of an attitude of indifference by the owner, manager, or some employee

Over two-thirds take their business to your competition due to reasons other than the product or price. Customers are fickle! Unless they have no alternative, a customer will leave if they are offended or if their needs are not being met by a member of your team. Your company may indeed have the best product or service, but if not delivered by attentive staff and leadership, a customer is likely to buy from someone who treats them with respect.

So, from my viewpoint, CCCs are really a form of customer loyalty insurance. It's just one more way to show respect for the most important people in our business.

Rae that is so great. Thanks for sharing.
I will totally not go back to a store or building if I have encountered a grumpy or rude employee. I do not like to go to the library in our town. They are rude and it seems like you are bothering them when you ask questions. As far as the CCC calls go that is true they are so important. I was at a show a few weeks ago and the ladies had talked about another show they had. The show was a wine show and they thought the consultant was ok but they still had fun. 2 of the ladies shared how they had been interested in having shows and gave their info to the consultant. It had been 6 months and she hadn't called them, 1 even had called her to remind her she was interested. Pretty bad, that was 2 easy bookings for that consultant.
Sorry a little bit long, but thanks for the post.

Rae - that is a great reminder, and I love the statistics.

I had a show Monday night, and had a guest there book a Bridal Shower for April. She happened to mention that her daughter had had a PC bridal shower 8 months ago, and was just thrilled with everything she received. It was a $1000 show! So, after hearing that, I asked if she wanted to work with the previous consultant....she said no, and that she couldn't even remember her name. Neither could her daughter (the bride who was the "host") who was with her at the show.
Obviously, there had been no follow-up on the part of the consultant. I booked the show, and I guaranteed them that they would remember my name!:D

I like to think I'm unforgettable. However, I realize that may not always be true. :D During my shows I say:

Now, if you're going to put me in your address system, please put me under P for Pampered Chef. Otherwise, you'll have a Pampered Chef emergency; you'll be standing by the phone saying, 'Oh, what was the name of that weird little redheaded woman?!' If you put me under P for Pampered Chef, you'll always find me."

I love that!

Just made a few calls - booked another show for February! Now - 10 shows and 2 catalog shows for Feb! Whoo Hooo!

Wow! I'm loving this snowed-in day!

Just booked a March Show! If you are living in the part of the country that is experiencing the bad winter weather - now is a good time to be making calls! I just booked a show with a teacher I've been trying to get a hold of ~ she's at home snowed it today! :D

Received a call this morning from my Saturday host (this past Saturday). She IS going to sign!! I just received another call from a recruit lead that I was supposed to have an interview with tonight. She is not ready to sign at this point. I told her I would keep in touch. Her daughter is hosting a show in March, so I will see her then as well. I will make use of my free time tonight with a few calls.

That's great Bren! How many will this one make for you?

This will make #3!

great job Brenda!!!:D :D

Good job, Brenda!I had three contacts, resulting in one order. Not too bad.

Whooo Hoooo Brenda! So excited for you!:sing: :sing: :sing:

Besides talking to my newest soon to be team member, and the other recruit lead that cancelled our interview, no other contacts were made. I attempted, but got a number of answering machines.

I did well with contacts on this snowy day - several contacts resulting in 2 solid bookings, and a couple "let me check my calendar at work".....I think they will be bookings too - I was focusing on people who I figured would be home from work, so it was mostly school employees, and a couple of them needed to check on when P/T conferences would be in March.

Tonight, I have been working on closing 3 shows, and did a couple host coaching calls.

I'll be really excited for my January stats if all 4 of my open shows close by tomorrow!:D

Ladies!! You guys are rockin'!!!

Wednesday is a big church night, so not much happening here on the contacts front. Did find another potential recruit lead;) , touched base with another who wants me to call her in the morning, and talked with an upcoming Feb host. Had an interesting conversation about the biz. She's a former Henn consultant, and "would be interested in PC, if she wasn't so busy". Me thinks I may have another potential lead:p 'Cause we all know that if you have time to host a show, you've got time to go to a show to make $$$$

Had to google this one - I had never heard of it before - don't think there are any consultants in this area!

Well, I pop in here once in awhile but don't post much on this thread because my 3-2-1 is more like 3 contacts a week, 2 shows a month, 1 recruit a year right now.

But, I just submitted my Saturday show - gave me a new high show total. Left it open trying to get her to get to $800 comm. but didn't quite make it - oh well, she is VERY happy! Over $400 worth of products for $85. She'll buy more at her SIL's show the end of February - at least 2 items at 60% off. I also got an order at work for my mom's catalog show and that lady decided to do her own catalog show in February to get 2 items at 60% off. She had an open booking off her own catalog show in Sept. and was waiting to use it so she gets 4 items at 60% off! Then I called a friend and she is going to by a stone too...Mom's show won't be big but it'll make a show at least. She's happy with that since I'm trying to get her to do another one in February so she can get the 60% off two items (well if she books off herself, 60% off four item). She's trying not to use up all her contacts though. :)

Anyway, I did my 3 today!
