Boost Your Bookings and Sign-Ups: Tips for Making Your Business Stand Out

In summary, the new person is struggling to get bookings or sign-ups. They started in January and feel like they're not doing things the right way. They want to make it fun and not sound too pushy, but also want people to understand it is their business. Any suggestions?

I must be doing something wrong, I'm not getting bookings or sign ups I am new I started in January and just feel like I'm not going about this the right way. I want to make it fun and not sound too pushy but also want people to understand it is my business. Any suggestions? Should I use a game or something? Thanks

Summer can be a slow time - this will pass.

If you mention that you're working toward a goal (June and July sell-a-thon), that will help you get some bookings. People love to help out. :)

Offer fun themes, and summer-specific recipes that won't heat up the kitchen, like the 30 minute chicken or 10 minute pork.

Spend some time really searching and reading through the threads on here. There have been lots of great ideas and tips shared. You might find just the thing you need to rev things up.

Good luck!

I agree...this site is full of great information and ideas!!!!!! Read Read READ!!!! Ask ASK Ask!!!! Sell SELL SELL!!!!!

Don't give up.
Go new places, try new things... go to flea markets, yard sales, craft shows.. I try to meet a new person everywhere I go... it is causing me to be that much nicer... no road rage here....

Don't give up. I havent been doing this more that a month and everyone keeps saying the summer is slow... but all these things you do now will plant the seed for an AWESOME fall! Good Luck

I use the passing game. I use the word "hostess" (only when I say it does it count) for the tool to pass from guest to guest. A tool, usually one of the small bamboo spoons, is passed each time I say the word. This forces me to talk alot about the hostess program and the guests will encouage me so the spoon will pass.

I encourage a wish list. I tell my guests to think about each price they see as 1/2 the price. I tell them that most of my hostess enjoy $90 or more in free products because my show average is $540.

There is also the booking tree. You use a picture wire display and put dates on cards and display in the middle of your table. You also display on the tree gifts for booking on those dates. Think of what you would pay (in cash) to have a guest walk up to you and book a close date. Say, you say you would pay $6. Okay, then you would be willing to buy a $10 item (using the hostesses discount and figuring in your commission). Go through and pick out items in your range that would encourage your guests to book one of your dates. Ice cream scoop and new salad tongs are good ones for this summer.

This is working well for many right now.

Hope these ideas fill your book this summer.

are you practicing 3-2-1? It has worked for me and go back to that list of 100! Get a booth at a fair or a festival or somewhere and get your name out there. You would be surprised what will happen.

One thing I had to learn was that I was offering a great opportunity to people to have an excuse to party and get stuff for free. The party is not for me, it is for the host and guest! Once you change how you look at it, the bookings will come.Kind of cryptic, but it works!

I would highly suggest to your guests at the shows that when they book a catalog or host a show the current host benefits from this. I always tell everyone that if they refer someone to me I will give them a small bar pan free. That is working for me. This idea was on this site. thanks for whom suggested it. It works well.
