It depends.....I really like the cheesy version with Chili......but the apple version is really yummy too! Don't think you can go wrong with either one!heat123 said:Has anyone done the cheesy salsa or the apple nut version with the beer bread? If so, which do you prefer of all: reg, cheesy or apple version? I am doing a pot luck and wanted to bring a loaf! TIA for any feedback!
Is the cheesy version at all sweet or no since you add salsa and the cheese??ChefBeckyD said:It depends.....I really like the cheesy version with Chili......but the apple version is really yummy too! Don't think you can go wrong with either one!
Sometimes, when I make the salsa version, I use club soda, or plain sparkling water. the beer does make it sweeter.heat123 said:Is the cheesy version at all sweet or no since you add salsa and the cheese??

The apple version is really good using sparkling apple juice, too!
Oh - and use orange soda, and grate in some orange rind, and throw in some dried cranberries for a delicious Cranberry/Orange Bread variation.
I'd actually kind of prefer it a little sweet with the cheesy verision, should I use the beer instead of water???chefann said:The salsa version actually calls for water instead of beer. It's pretty good. And if you use hotter salsa, you can really change it up.
Cheesy Salsa Beer Bread typically includes self-rising flour, shredded cheese, salsa, and beer. The combination of these ingredients creates a savory bread with a delightful cheesy flavor and a hint of spice from the salsa.
Apple Nut Beer Bread is made with self-rising flour, diced apples, chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans), sugar, and beer. This variation offers a sweet and nutty flavor profile, making it a perfect choice for breakfast or dessert.
The flavors of Cheesy Salsa Beer Bread are savory and slightly spicy due to the salsa and cheese, while Apple Nut Beer Bread is sweet and nutty, featuring the natural sweetness of apples and the crunch of nuts. The choice between them often depends on whether you prefer a savory or sweet bread.
Cheesy Salsa Beer Bread is generally considered more versatile for meals, as it pairs well with soups, stews, and salads, making it a great side dish. Apple Nut Beer Bread, on the other hand, is best suited for breakfast or as a dessert option.
Yes, both Cheesy Salsa and Apple Nut Beer Bread recipes can be customized. For Cheesy Salsa, you can experiment with different types of cheese or add ingredients like jalapeños for extra heat. For Apple Nut, you can try different fruits or nuts, or even add spices like cinnamon for added flavor.
